MINUTES Meeting of the Farmington Public Library Advisory Board Farmington Public Library Staff Conference Room Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 4:00 pm Members present: Paula Nickerson, Brett Lanier, Michelle Foster, Karen Morrison, Tom Mullins, Devin Long Staff Present: Jenny Lee Ryan, Karen McPheeters I. Statistics distributed, discussion of library useage and budget 1. Programming is one of our strengths ii. Minimum wage increase included commiserate increases for all part time staff iii. Have been approved funds to upgrade outdated equipment to a lease – self checks, tagging machines, gates, automated return, etc. iv. Next meeting to do a formal acceptance of the budget, as designated in city code 1. Board members invited to attend budget hearing v. Storytime Theater has not had heat since December 1. Staff area has also been affected  vi. Boys and Girls Club 1. Library is still at club, new agreement is yet to be established V. New Business a. Thinking Money for Kids Exhibit i. Opening reception Friday, February 21 at 4:00 pm ii. Interactive exhibit for kids, events for all ages 1. Fantasy Stock League 2. FAFSA help 3. Mark Lautman 4. Classes and presentations VI.
