Byrne 546 Blossom St. Fitchburg, MA 01420 Public Safety Committee Oral Report Meeting of February 3, 2015 188-13. Councillor Dolores Thibault-Munoz and Ms. Susan Garipey to request a parking zone in the front of 69 High Street-Veterans Homestead- for at least two spaces for health care personnel. 11-15. Councillor Angelo Bisol, to create handicapped parking for Van pickup and handicapped parking in the Municipal Parking lot behind 285 Main St. 12-15. Councillors Angelo Bisol and Michael Kushmerek, to change fourteen meter parking spaces located at the corner of Boulder Ave. and Newton Place (Across from the Youth Library Entrance) to Library two hour parking spaces. 13-15. Councillor Paul Beauchemin, to request that customers exiting the Citgo Gas Station on lower Main St. make left hand turns using either Willow St. or North St. for safety purposes. Also request “No Left Hand Turn” sign be placed there. 14-15. Councillor Paul Beauchemin, to request that customers using Dunkin Donuts on lower Main St. make left hand turns using North St. at the lights for safety purposes. Also request “No Left Hand Turn” sign be placed there. IX. HEARING 008-15. Comcast of Massachusetts III, Inc., to install a new conduit system to provide service to 480 Main St. as outlined in the enclosed petition. X. ORDERS - FINANCE 308-14. LOAN ORDER: For $4.6 million for Airport Capital Improvements as outlined in the enclosed Order. (Final Reading-Roll Call Vote) 016-15. ORDER: That the City of Fitchburg hereby approves the expenditure of funds from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, for the Police- FY 15 Shannon Community Safety Initiative Grant, in the approximate amount of $216,790, for the purposes of said grant. 017-15. ORDER: Appropr. the sum of $250,000, same to be charged against AVAILABLE FUNDS and credited to accounts as follows: $40,000 to DPW-SNOW AND ICE PERSONAL SERVICES OVERTIME and $210,000 to DPW-SNOW AND ICE EXPENSES. XI. ORDER-OTHER 018-15. ORDER: The dates of the regular meetings of the City Council for the Year 2015 be amended.(see enclosed order). XII. ORDINANCES 007-15. AN ORDINANCE: That Chapter 169, Section 76 of the Code of The City of Fitchburg entitled "Stop intersections" as most recently amended, be further amended by adding thereto: Stop sign on: Direction of Traffic: At intersection of: Scott Rd. Both Rindge Rd. Plymouth St. Both Madison St. Newtonville Ave. Both Reingold Ave. (Final Reading) (Reference petitions #178-14, 226-14, and 189-14) 019-15. AN ORDINANCE: Amending Chapter 169, Section 54C(1) entitled “Resident-only permit parking areas/tow zone” as outlined in the enclosed Ordinance. (Snow Street) (Reference Petition #297-14) (First Reading) 020-15. AN ORDINANCE: Amending Chapter 169, section 25 of the Code of the City entitled “Parking prohibited certain hours” as outlined in the enclosed Petition. (Leyte and Normandy Road). (Reference Petition #307-14) (First Reading) XIII. PETITIONS 021-15. Larry Casassa, Acting Community Development Director, to approve the sale of B.F. Brown School to Fitchburg Affordable Housing Corporation, 470 Main St., Fitchburg, MA, as outlined in the enclosed Petition. (City Property Committee) 022-15. Calvin D. Brooks, City Treasurer, to increase the fine for violating the snow emergency parking ban from $25.00 to $30.00 to keep it consistent with other fines and to relocate the fine in the City Code from section 169-35 “Parking in Snow emergencies” to section 169-58 “Violations and Penalties”. (Finance Committee) 023-15. Councillor Dean A. Tran, to develop and conduct a business survey and analysis in order to engage the business community and for them to share their perspectives regarding the current and future economic health of the City. (Council as a Whole Committee) 024-15. Councillor Amy Green, to install a guard rail along Crawford St. to provide a barrier to prevent autos from ending up on the Fitchburg Airport Property. (Public Works Committee) 025-15. Councillor Dean A. Tran, to develop and implement a limited parking plan on Arn-How Farm Rd. in front of FHS and install the appropriate signage. (Public Safety Committee) 026-15. Councillor Michael Kushmerek, to mitigate water run- off and ice build-up issues on Tapio Street. (Public Works Committee) 027-15. Councillor Dean A. Tran, to remedy the drainage issue between 86 and 100 Tibbett Circle. (Public Works Committee) Next Regular Meeting February 17, 2015
