Cruz COUNCIL AS A WHOLE COMMITTEE MEETING Legislative Building, 700 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The Council as a Whole Committee Meeting was called to order by President Zarrella at 7:18 PM. Nine (9) Councilors were present (Councilor Beauchemin & Fleming were absent). I. PUBLIC FORUM Chief Martineau spoke in support of the appointment of Captain Steven D. Giannini. The agenda will consist of the following: 1. New-Appointment letter: Captain Steven D. Giannini, to the position of Chief of Police, effective February 1, 2025, for a term to expire January 31, 2028. Motion and second to approve the appointment of Captain Steven D. Giannin to Chief of Police by roll call vote of 9 in favor and 0 opposed. Motion to adjourn Council as a Whole at 7:40 PM by unanimous consent 9/0. 9 members present. Board consists of 11 members. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.
