FITCHBURG CITY CLERK May 17 2023 8:18 am FITCHBURG CULTURAL COUNCIL MINUTES TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 2023 CITY HALL LEGISLATIVE BUILDING, 700 MAIN STREET 4:30 PM In attendance: Tamar Russell-Brown, Audrey Pendleton-Chow, Elizabeth “Liz” Murphy, A.J. Tourigny, Shara Osgood, Joe Bowen (ex-officio) Called to Order: ● Tamar called the meeting order at 4:37 PM New Members: ● Ellen Daust introduced herself ○ Lives in Fitchburg and explained her interest in the city and FCC, and her related skills. ○ Audrey made a motion to endorse Ellen Daust to be a member of the Cultural Council ■ Seconded by Shara ■ Unanimous Grant Report: ● Audrey has taken over FY 23 Grantees, Ellen will be stepping down in June. ● Half of the grantees have responded with grant forms. Minutes: ● Vote to approve 2/21/23 Minutes ○ Motion made by Liz ○ Seconded by Shara ○ Unanimous Questionnaire: ● Audrey updated the survey from last year. ● The questionnaire will be used to help determine our local priorities. It will be distributed before our June 1st meeting, would like to distribute it amongst the public as soon as possible. ● Members deliberated on the wording of the questions ○ Motion made by Shara to accept the survey with adjustments as deliberated ○ Seconded by A.J.  ○ Unanimous 2023 Events: FOS: ● FCC had remaining funds, $1,500, from the last two previous Fitchburg Open Studios through donations and application fees ● FCA is taking over Fitchburg Open Studios moving forward ● Liz made a motion for FCC to Sponsor Fitchburg Open Studios 2023 at $1,500 ● Seconded by Shara ● Speaking to the motion: Audrey - this is locally raised funds from previous Fitchburg Open Studios, not MCC funding ● Unanimous Adjournment: ● Made by Liz ● Seconded by Audrey ● Adjourned at 5:08 pm
