FITCHBURG CITY CLERK Jun 20 2023 5:15 pm FITCHBURG CULTURAL COUNCIL MINUTES TUESDAY, MAY 16, 2023 CITY HALL LEGISLATIVE BUILDING, 700 MAIN STREET 4:30 PM In attendance: Tamar Russell-Brown, Elizabeth “Liz” Murphy, A.J. Tourigny, Shara Osgood, Eileen Berger, Joe Bowen (ex-offico) Call to Order: ● Tamar called the meeting to order at 4:34 pm ● Shara Osgood arrived at 4:38 ● Joe Bowen arrived at 4:49 New Members ● Catherine Healey, a resident of Fitchburg, interested in serving on the FCC provided public comment about her education, professional background, and reasons why she would like to serve on the FCC. ○ Motion made by A.J. to endorse Catherine Healey to forward her name to the Mayor’s Office for appointment to the FCC ○ Second by Liz ○ Unanimous Treasurer’s Report ● Liz provided the treasurer’s report ● The budget sheet attached to these minutes for reference ● Tamar has a donation for an additional scholarship, $500.00, that she will bring to city hall for deposit. ● Motion made by Shara to approve Treasurers Report, as presented, ○ Second by Liz ○ Unanimous Grant Report ● Eileen provided an update. ● There are 8 recipients she is still working with from last year's cycle. Will work to have this wrapped up by end of June 30th. Public Input Meeting on June 1 ● Opportunity for the public to provide input on grant priorities for the next grant cycle. ● Will review the questionnaire with the general public and help guide them through the process ● 4:30-6:30 at FAM Rotary Donation ● Tamar read a letter from the Rotary Club through the Chambers CLI program seeking a donation to MYTURN scholarship fund. Letter attached. ● A discussion was had on whether the Rotary Club’s request fit within the FCC mission and guidelines ● A motion was made by Shara for $100 to be contributed to the MY TURN CLI class of 2023 scholarship ○ Second by Eileen ○ Unanimous Sculpture Park ● The artist was not available to speak to the FCC ● Tamar provided background - an organization will assist the city in coordinating a ● Minutes: ● Motion to accept March 21, 2023 minutes made by Liz ● Second by Shara ● Unanimous Adjournment: ● Motion to adjourn made by Eileen, 5:05pm ● Second by A.J. ● Unanimous
