Fitchburg Disability Commission Date: Thursday, MAY 8, 2014 Location: Conference room at Putnam Place Commission Members Present: Bill Malone, Doris Matte, Richard Sarasin, Jeff Wolfgang, Bill Tolos Guests and Others: Amy LeBlanc, Community Development Office Minutes: Motion to accept April's minutes as amended accepted Accessible Playgrounds and Equipment: The letter to the parks commission was rewritten and sent out to Leominster's and Fitchburg's Mayor, City Council, Disability Commission and Parks Board's. Housing Authority: Doris Matte will contact Gene Capoccia to check on progress and additional concerns. Excise tax exemption for amputees: Bill Tolos will continue his research and report back to the commission at a latter date. Commission Membership: The commission will continue there efforts to gain more members through various means. Handicap Parking Fines The Commission agreed to have Jeff Dugan from Mass Office on Disabilities to come out and talk to the Mayor, a few choice city councilors and the commission after the budget is finalized. The Commission will also make a list of projects that the money could go toward in addition to curb cuts. New Business: No new business The meeting ended at 4:24 pm.
