In attendance were:
Commissioners: Maryam Ashraf, Jamie Darcangelo, Krista Ford-Rhodes, Barbara Nealon, Mariah Pridgen, David
Roth, Maritza Knight
Agenda
• Called meeting to order 5:30pm
• Welcoming and Introductions/Roll Call {attendance}
• Review of previous meeting minutes April 20, 2022 accepted as written
Roll call voting occurred individually for each month meeting minutes which were 100%
approved
• Public Comment Period-Opportunity for the public to speak during a Commission Meeting
Chairperson or designee will ask if anyone in the audience wishes to speak on any matter appearing on the agenda.
If you wish to address the commission, raise your hand, when recognized, you must stand state your name and
address and the reason for your speaking-none noted
• New Business-
o Guest: Michelle Marino, City of Fitchburg Veteran’s Services
An overview of services offered to the residents of Fitchburg-cancelled due to
emergency. Will reschedule.
o Old Business-
o Other items-future meeting , outreach efforts etc
a. Mural Painting event May 5, 2022 at City Hall –several Commissioners attended the
event {Cheryl, Krista and Barbara} and shared comments of the event and looking
forward to the unveiling of the mural the week on June 30th.
–representation from HRC in recognition of the North Central Mass Minority
Coalition and former Human Rights Commissioner Adrian L. Ford.
b. The next meeting is set to commence in June. Discussion of not having meetings in July and
August due to vacation schedules and potential risk again of lack of quorum for meeting
minutes approval. If there are no agenda items pressing, will bring to commission next
month for a formal vote. Awaiting Massachusetts Update on Virtual Meetings as well.
As Pandemic continues will consider to meet in person in September; membership will be
kept informed.
