MINUTES QF MEETING
A meeting of the Board of License Commissioners was held on March 4, 2020 in the Fitchbiirg Fire
Department Conference Room, 33 North St., Fitchburg, and called to order by Cornmissioner Sarefield at 6:00
P.M. Commissioners Boscardin and Fossa were also present. FPD Liaison Lieutenant Howe zuas present.
L REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutesfrom the previous meeting of February 19, 2020 were reviewed and signed.
DISCUSSION: Board ofHealth Complaint, Singapore Restaurant
General Sanitation/Health Department Complaint - re-inspection
Commissioner Boscardin stated that he had attended the re-inspection ofthe Singapore Restaiirant with
Ms. Stephanie Holinko, Food Inspectorfor the Fitchbiirg Board ofHealth He noted that many ofthe
original issues were being addressed, inchidmg new stainless steel sinks, a deep cleaning by a
professional company, and that they are advertising and intervie^ingfor new staff. He mentioned that
over the 2 l/2 hours that they were present, he coiddsee that they ^vere taking positive steps to complete
the list. He noted that he was satisfied with howprogress was going and that he expected, \vhen the
jinal re-inspection happened on March 13th, even more would he accomplisheci
Commissioner Fossa thankecl Commissioner Boscardinfor offering assistance in this situation, and
pointed out that as recommended (in a prior occasion) by aformer Assistant City Solicitor, Christine
Tree, the License Commission continue to act only as an assisting authority for this particular incident,

As thefmal re-inspection will takeplace on March 13th, it was agreed by the Commission that the matter
would be contimied to the nexl License Commission meeling on March 16, 2020. 3/0

Mr. Flanagan \vas present. He mentioned that the incorrect dates had been put on the
application andaskedthat they be amendedto Friday, March 27th, and Satiirday, March 28th.

1. Fitchburg State University, 160 Pearl Street, for Money Free Casino Night, from 8 PM to 12 AM
on Friday, May 1, 2020 for 450-500 people at Hammond Hall, street level.
Mr. Joseph Flanagan ^vas present. Approved 2/0
Commissioner Sarefield reentered the room.
Amend Sundav Entertainment Permit
Ipanema Productions, 567 Crawford Street, for live amplified music, DJ, dancing for Monday,
N4ay 25, 2020 (Adding rain date for already approved permit).
Mr. Carlos Silva \vas present. He explained that the extra date wasjust to providefor an
additional rain date, ifnecessary. Lt. Howe asked that when thefinal date \vas set that Mr. Silva
contact him as soon aspossible so that he could prepare for police coverage at the event. Mr.
Silva agreed.

Application for Automatic Amusement Devices
FunStufParky Place, 791 Water Street, for claw machine (1).
Mr. Ethan Deslauriers and Mr. Francis Dower were present They explained that they already
had t\vo (2) machines in place and this would add a third.

DISCUSSION - Incident, Major's Cafe ofFebruary 14th, 2020.
Lieiitenant Howe stated that an incident happened at Major rs Cafe, 149 Limenburg Road, on Febniary
14th. Several parties \{)ere caiising a distiirbance. The Cafe called the police immediately and everyone
had disbursed before the police arriveci There was no indication of intoxication and the Cafe seems to
have handled the situation m an appropriate matter. As this is a licensed establishment, Lieiitenant
Ho^ve wanted to present the mformation to the Commission.
Motion made that there appears to be no violation by the Licensee and the matter is closed. 3/0
