BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS City Hall, 718 Main Street Fitchburg MA 01420 (978) 829-1820 Daniel Sarefield, Chairman Richard Boscardin John Zarrella MINUTES OF MEETING A regular meeting of the Board of License Commissioners was held on July 7, 2021 over the Zoom meeting platform, and called to order by Commissioner Sarefield at 6:00 PM. Commissioners Boscardin and Zarrella were also present at the meeting. FPD Liaison Lieutenant Howe was present. I. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING(S) Commissioner Sarefield recused himself from the vote. The minutes of June 21, 2021 were approved by unanimous consent 2/0. II. APPLICATIONS: Change of Manager Strong Style Coffee, 37 Boulder Drive, from Eirean Bradly to Kimberly Jones. As the applicant was not present, Motion to continue application to the next meeting on July 19, 2021 was approved by unanimous consent 2/0 (motion taken at end of meeting, out of order). The Boulder, 880 Main Street, from Chris Bujold to Monica McNamara Mr. Bujold and Ms. McNamara were present at the meeting. Commissioner Sarefield stated that he was glad to see that a long time business was now coming back and asked whether an opening date had been set. Mr. Bujold stated that they hoped for a soft opening on August 1st, but that this was tentative. Commissioner Sarefield explained that the License Commission was always available to Ms. McNamara if she needed assistance. Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. Commissioner Zarrella left the meeting at 6:24 PM. Entertainment Permit for Mill Street Stage on Boulder Drive for live acoustic music, live amplified music, DJ from 6PM to 9PM on the following Thursday dates: July 15, July 22, August 5, August 19, September 2, September 16, as well as Saturday, September 25, all in 2021. Ms. Melissa Monteiro and Mr. Joseph Ferguson were present at the meeting. Ms. Monteiro noted that the application was a continuation of the reimagining of North of Main and reactivating Mill Street. Application amended to change ending time for Thursday dates: July 15, July 22, August 5, August 19, September 2, September 16 to 9:30 PM, and for Saturday, September 25th (amended time to Noon to 9:30) in order to accommodate the requirements of License Commission Regulation 10.6. Page 1  (Any form of entertainment such as a DJ with an amplified sound system, acoustic guitar with no amplifier, band with an amplified sound system or other form of entertainment that creates any amplified sound must be turned off and left off 30 Minutes prior to closing). Application further amended for the Saturday, September 25th date, to permit an increase in the scope of the venue to include Main Street. Amended Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 2/0. III. NEW BUSINESS Lieutenant Howe stated that there had been some complaints regarding Kingston Island Cuisine and one involved public urination. Lieutenant Howe stated that a police report had been filed regarding an incident involving this type of matter on June 27th. The Commissioners agreed that a site visit to discuss this matter with the owners would be an appropriate step and they will endeavor to do so in the coming weeks.
