BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS City Hall, 718 Main Street Fitchburg MA 01420 FITCHBURG CITY CLERK (978) 829-1820 Jan 24 2025 1:40 pm Daniel Sarefield, Chairman Richard Boscardin Glenn Fossa MINUTES OF MEETING A regular meeting of the Board of License Commissioners was held on Monday, January 6, 2025 in person and called to order by Commissioner Sarefield at 6:00 PM. Commissioner Boscardin and Fossa were present. FPD Liaison Lieutenant Jeffrey How and, City Clerk Joanna Bilotta were present. I. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING(S) 1. Regular Minutes of December 16, 2024 and Special Meeting Minutes of December 27, 2024. The Regular Meeting Minutes of December 16 and the Special Meeting Minutes of December 27, 2024 were approved by roll call vote 3/0. II. NEW APPLICATIONS Please note that the Commission may enter into Executive Session pursuant to G.L. c. 30A, sec. 21(a) (5) (Discussion of CORI results), if required during this portion of the agenda, and will return to regular session upon completion. Special One Day Wine & Malt Beverages Janice Potter, St. Joseph’s Church for six (6) Special One Day Wine & Malt Beverage licenses for Fish Fry in the Church Hall Madonna Hall area at 118 Theresa Street from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 7th, March 14th, March 21st, March 28th, April 4th and April 11, 2025. Mr. Migliozzi was present at the meeting. Commissioner Sarefield reviewed application and confirmed all servers have TIP certifications. Lt. Howe had no concerns. Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. Special One Day All Alcoholic Beverages Nathalie Rivera-Castro, Fundraising Event, 14 Wallace Avenue, Friday, January 24, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM, for approximately 100 people. Ms. Rivera-Castro was present at the meeting. Commissioner Sarefield reviewed the application and verified that all servers have TIP certifications. Lt Howe had no concerns. Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. Page 1 Monday-Saturday Entertainment Permit Derek Craig, Creative Network Summit, 14 Wallace Avenue, Saturday, February 22, 2025, for live acoustic music, DJ, and conference style panels and speakers, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for approximately 250 people. Mr. Craig was present at the meeting, Commissioner Sarefield reviewed application. Commissioner Sarefield confirmed that the times are all set and Mr. Craig is aware of it ending thirty minutes prior. Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. Nathalie Rivera-Castro, Fundraising Event, 14 Wallace Avenue, Friday, January 24, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM, for approximately 100 people. Ms. Rivera-Castro present at the meeting. Commissioner Sarefield reviewed the application and verified that Ms. Rivera-Castro is aware that all entertainment must be concluded thirty minutes prior to closing. Amended application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. Change of Manger Application Michael Kennedy, Falcon Hub, 160 Pearl Street Mr. Kennedy was present at the meeting. Commissioner Sarefield stated for the record that while he is an employee at Fitchburg State University, he has no financial stake or connection to this establishment. Commissioner Sarefield reviewed the application and confirmed that Mr. Kennedy was TIPS certified. Commissioner Sarefield asked about Mr. Kennedy’s managerial history. Application approved by unanimous roll call vote 3/0. III. CORRESPONDCE IV.
