FITCHBURG CITY CLERK Mar 28 2024 12:44 pm MPHN Meeting 12/6/2023 Virtual Zoom Meeting In attendance: Catherine Hoover, Victoria Selser, Micah Blondeau, Phil Leger, Deb Vondal, Jim Abare, Sue Avallone, Tom Bonci, Abby Conlin, Laurie Demalia, Stacy Ciccolini and Michelle Powell Meeting opened 9:03 by Micah, vice chair No public comment Approval of past minutes: motion to move Phil, second by Tom Fall Immunization Update and Review (Victoria): explanation of why 74 clinics due to later delivery of covid vax, 11 of 13 MPHN cities had clinics, administered ~1300 covid doses and ~1500 flu doses, breakdown shown of where vax clinics were held, highest number at housing, second highest senior centers and places of worship Hep A outbreak in MA (Victoria): 6 cases identified, mirroring outbreak in 2018, state health dept asking local HD to be vigilant to educate and offer vax when possible, working on clinics for shelters in Fitchburg and Leominster at least, recovery center in Athol and other towns discussed (North Quabbin Recovery Center, peer recovery centers in Leom, Gardner) very new and more info to come Lead program update (Victoria): pilot for elevated BLL of 5-9 outreach, referrals can be done for WIC and early intervention, goal to get BLL lowered before they become in poisoned level of 10 or above, concern from Phil of inspectional resource needs and cost, no required inspectional component with elevated levels, question from Laurie D. about where the elevated BLL results are coming from, concerns about a regional lead determinator, more conversations to happen about this, Jim concerns as well with reporting to court for cases needing lead removal from homes Meeting adjourned
