Water/Wastewater Commission Meeting Minutes March 29th, 2023 Legislative Building, City Hall Campus 700 Main St, Fitchburg MA 01420 ______________________________________________________________________________ A meeting for the City of Fitchburg Water/Wastewater Commission was held on Wednesday March 29th, 2023 at the Legislative Building, City Hall Campus, 700 Main St. Fitchburg, MA 01420 The meeting commenced at 5:02 PM Members present: George Seiner, Commission Member Mark Piermarini, Commission Member Rick Healey, Chairman Stephen Bodurtha, Commission Member Colby O’Brien, Commission Member Nicholas Erickson, Commissioner of Public Works Micheal McLaughlin, Commission Member Others present: John Deline Jr, Deputy Commissioner Water Division Mark McNamara, Deputy Commissioner Water Division Mayor Stephen Dinatale Dave Fox, Raftelis Pat Cotton, Weston & Sampson Sam Kenney, Weston & Sampson Jennifer Lambert, Clerk Absent: None Item #1 Approval of meeting minutes: Motion to approve minutes from January 18, 2023 meeting was granted by unanimous vote. Item #2 Public Forum: None Item #4 Water Division/Wastewater Division Rate Study Presentation  Dave Fox with Raftelis along with Pat Cotton and Sam Kenney from Weston and Sampson Engineers presented the Rate Study to the Commission. This rate study was conducted to ensure long term sustainability and viability for the City’s Water and Sewer Funds. Financial plans were discussed in depth for both the Water and Sewer Divisions. A Financial plan models the yearly cash flow and reserve balances. Rates and customer impacts were discussed next at length. Presentation attached.  DPW Commissioner Nick Erickson made a motion for the Commission to accept and approve the recommendations made during the presentation for rate increases and send to City Council for approval. Commissioner Mark Piermarini seconded the motion. Motion carries 5-2 Item #5 Other Business:  The Water/Wastewater Commission will next meet at 5:00 pm on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at the Legislative Building, City Hall Campus 700 Main St. Fitchburg, MA. Meeting adjourned at 6:27 pm
