Water/Wastewater Commission Meeting Minutes October 18th, 2023 Legislative Building, City Hall Campus 700 Main St, Fitchburg MA 01420 ______________________________________________________________________________ A meeting for the City of Fitchburg Water/Wastewater Commission was held on Wednesday October 18th, 2023 at the Legislative Building, City Hall Campus, 700 Main St. Fitchburg, MA 01420 The meeting commenced at 5:03 PM Members present: Rick Healey, Chairman Nicholas Erickson, Commissioner of Public Works Michael McLaughlin, Commission Member George Seiner, Commission Member Colby O’Brien, Commission Member Others present: Mark McNamara, Deputy Commissioner Wastewater Division Absent: Stephen Bodurtha, Commission Member John M. Deline Jr, Deputy Commissioner Water Division Item #1 Approval of meeting minutes: Motion to approve minutes from September 20, 2023 meeting was granted by unanimous vote. Item #2 Public Forum: None Item #3 Water Division  Dam & Seawall Repair and Removal Grant Program Grant Award for Scott Reservoir Dam – City was awarded a grant in the amount of $76,800 to conduct initial investigation as to the  seepage at the Scott Reservoir Damn. This will help with the design process on repairs. Packet handed out for your review. Motion to accept funds of said grant and approve the expenditure of funds in line with the scope of work that was given to you. Motion was granted by unanimous consent. Item #4 Wastewater Division:  CSO 010 Project – Contractors are currently working on School Street Drainage. They have completed Park St, Goddard St, Chestnut St, and lower Bond St. They will paving soon on West St. and Ashburnham Hill Rd.  CSO 032 Project – We just completed the SRF loan package. We have received confirmation that the state has received it. Hoping to see construction being on this next year. Packet distributed to Commission Members.  Lab/Control Room Project - Project is ongoing. This includes refurbishing the last two clarifiers we have down there. These are original to plant and have not been refurbished. Bids came back on 9/28 and did come in lower that we had anticipated. This will be approx... a twelve month project.  Staffing – Couple of vacancies still. GIS engineer interviews to be held within the next couple of weeks. Senior Operator position is still open. Item #5 Other Business:  The Water/Wastewater Commission will next meet at 5:00 pm on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at the Legislative Building, City Hall Campus 700 Main St. Fitchburg, MA.
