FLORA TOURISM​ The Depot – Train Room​ April 16, 2025 – 5:00 pm The meeting was called to order at 5:15pm by Vice President Lacey Lewis. Committee members Present: Phil Wiley, Karen Anderson, Jen Henson, Lacey Lewis, Chris Thompson and Anna Rounds. Absent: Stephen Smith Guests: None Previous minutes were read and a motion to approve was made by Karen and seconded by Phil. Financial report was tabled at this time. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Expenses: Michael Gill submitted a grant application on behalf of the Chuckin Aces Disc Golf Club and Flora Rotary for the upcoming Flora Rotary Disc Golf Tournament. A motion was made to approve $750 by Anna and seconded by Karen. Anna has ordered 2 porta potties for Spring Fest, to be delivered in the corner of City Hall’s parking lot, 1 regular potty and 1 handicap. Discussion was made regarding Spring Fest and wanting to know how many teams we had signed up. Chris texted Dawn Wiles and she informed us that we have 5 confirmed with others interested. Anna gave a run down of vendors signed up. She will start rolling out vendor social media posts next week. Phil and Lacey will handle setting up vendor spots for Library Park. It was asked for Anna to submit to Smitty at CCR to add the event to the Bulletin Board section of the newspaper. Lacey mentioned that we needed to go in front of City Council to block off in front of Library Park to allow mowers and other large equipment to be parked on pavement instead of the Library Park grounds in case it rains. Anna will get a letter sent tomorrow to the council and get on the agenda. It was asked if Anna can visit other downtown businesses to see if they would like to participate or run any specials, if so we will advertise it for them. Anna will see if the City can set out trash cans for the event as well. OTHER - Lacey needs answers ASAP on modifications for the shed so we can get it ordered before pricing starts going up.
