FLORA TOURISM​ The Depot – Train Room​ July 9th, 2025 – 5:00 pm The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm by Vice President Lacey Lewis. Committee members Present: Lacey Lewis, Chris Thompson, Anna Rounds and Phil Wiley (by phone). Absent: Stephen Smith, Jen Henson, Previous minutes were read and a motion to approve was made by Lacey and seconded by Chris. The financial report was tabled at this time. OLD BUSINESS Lacey discussed that Tourism received $108 from donations at the pool from the 4th of July. Discussed meals sold from the fireworks fundraiser dinner. NEW BUSINESS Expenses: Approved $1250 to Salt & Strings for the 4th of July dinners, and $55 to Anthony Harringhton Decals and Graphics for the sign at DQ. A motion was made by Chris and seconded by Lacey. Approved $500 sponsorship to the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders for the rodeo at the fair, motion made by Anna and seconded by Lacey. Tourism Grant: Anna Rounds, on behalf of the Flora Chamber of Commerce, presented the I&E report from the Chambers 4th of July Celebration. Ford Town: It was asked for Anna to get the “Save the Date” advertising out for Ford Town, create an event page, and finish the registration forms for vendors & food trucks. Other items discussed was to ask the Methodist church if they would like to provide the magician from last year again, work on the 2025 shirt design, create signs to advertise (these need put out the middle of August), go in front of council to get approval for closures, and request porta potties.
