FLORA TOURISM​ The Depot – Train Room​ March 11th, 2026 – 5:15 pm The meeting was called to order at 5:12 pm by Lacey Lewis. Committee members Present: Lacey Lewis, Phil Wiley, Arriel Dulaney Absent: Debbie Lamb & Stephen Smith GUESTS: Mike Stanford, Nikki Green, Steve Eastin, Brody Burdine, Nathan, Cassie Devore, Noelle Fopay Previous minutes were not read. The financial report was not presented. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Springfest: - Continued Discussion from February's Meeting -​ Date: May 16th 2026 9-3 -​ We will need 2nd street to north main down to 3rd street blocked off. -​ Looking for vendors, inflatables, Have yard games and facepainting -​ Will have a BBQ cook off and beer vendors. For BBQ We will add a people’s choice award. We will have wristbands for the alcohol -​ The event will be a Jurored event to prevent multiple of the same vendors. -​ Downtown, Angela’s Florist, and the library need to be notified of road closure. -​ Working with Kari Thackery in conjunction with their 6K water run that is the same day. -​ Offer Biscuits and gravy from 8-10 - $5.00 - Full order $3.00 - Half Order -​ Band - Contact Storm Brewing and see if they want to line up some musicians for that day. Fourth of July - Continued Discussion from February's Meeting -​ May 9th - 4th of July Fundraiser - St. Stephens Church Dinner - 4-8pm -​ Menu: Pork Steak, Coleslow, potato salad and rolls. -​ 250th Anniversary Flyer needs to be circulated soon! -​ 800 shot finale -​ 2-3 Water inflatables, Yard games -​ Band - see if we can get sponsors for the band to cover the expense. 6-Dusk - 5,000 Budget -​ Vendors -​ Need to contact Esda for directing traffic -​ Sell Hotdogs for $1 and water for $1 -​ Need to Notify Golf course of event Grants -​ Brody & Nathan presented on behalf of Coon Hunters Club an application for the Merchants building in the amount of $1,000 for Black & Tan Association. -​ The sooner we can notify them the better  -​ They also need a church to prep, cook, serve, and sell food for blue tic hunt. -​ Invited tourism to come out for lunch. -​ Nikki Green, Cassie Devore, and Noelle Fopay presented on behalf of Flora Community Market an application for the grant in the amount of $2,000 for the Market. -​ Mainly need it for advertisement -​ Would like to know asap so they can proceed with advertising -​ Both were told we would review them at the next meeting and get back to them as soon as we could.
