FLORA TOURISM​ The Depot – Train Room​ March 27th, 2026 – 5:00 pm The meeting was called to order at 5:10 pm by Stephen Smith. Committee members Present: Stephen Smith, Lacey Lewis, Phil Wiley, Arriel Dulaney Absent: Debbie Lamb GUESTS: Ryan Wiles Previous minutes were read and a motion to approve was made by Lacey and seconded by Phil. The financial report was tabled OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS A Motion was made by Lacey to put a down payment for the elf school - Seconded by Stephen Smith - Unanimous in favor A motion was made by Lacey in regards to grant money to give $500 for coon hunters and $1,000 for Flora Community Market. - Seconded by Stephen Smith - Unanimous in favor Springfest:- Continued Discussion from February's Meeting -​ Date: May 16th 2026 9-3 -​ We will need 2nd street to north main down to 3rd street blocked off. -​ Looking for vendors, inflatables, Have yard games and facepainting -​ Will have a BBQ cook off and beer vendors. For BBQ We will add a people’s choice award. We will have wristbands for the alcohol -​ The event will be a Jurored event to prevent multiple of the same vendors. -​ Working with Kari Thackery in conjunction with their 6K water run that is the same day. -​ Offer Biscuits and gravy from 8-10 - $5.00 - Full order $3.00 - Half Order -​ Band - Colton Klein, Matt Luvitt - Maybe -​ Porta Potties - 2 handicap+2 Handwashing stations needed. Call Whites Portable Toilets -​ No Rain Date - Event will be rain or shine -​ Fourth of July- Continued Discussion from February's Meeting -​ 250th Anniversary Flyer needs to be circulated soon! -​ 800 shot finale -​ Inflatables reserved -​ Band - see if we can get sponsors for the band to cover the expense. 6-Dusk -​ Taylor Kerney - Need to vote to approve paying -​ Vendors -​ Need a food vendor for All American Boy and Girl Contest -​ Need to contact Esda for directing traffic -​ Sell Hotdogs for $1 and water for $1  -​ Email Mike about having the bathrooms opened early and to make sure we have TP, Soap, and Papertowls Ford Town - Tabled date decision -​ OTHER: The next meeting will be on April 15th at 5:00PM ​ Adjourn – Adjourned at 7:18 PM with a motion made by Phil and seconded by Lacey.
