FORTY FORT BOROUGH
COUNCIL WORK SESSION
MARCH 18, 2013
The March work session of the Forty Fort Borough Council was held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Forty Fort
Borough Bldg., 1271 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort with President Joseph Chacke presiding.
President Chacke called the meeting to order at 7:58 PM with the following members of council present: Robert
Craig, Dorothy Craig, Charles Rick Kamus & Frank Michaels. Excused absences by Karen Martinelli & Betty Mascelli.
Also present were Mayor Boyd Hoats, Manager Barbara Fairchild & Secretary Bonnie Arnone.
President Chacke noted that an Executive Session had been held prior to this meeting this evening for personnel
issues.
Jeff McLaughlin stated that he had brought to the attention of council before that there should be more of an
explanation for Executives Sessions other than just personnel issues.
Mr. Kamus stated that he would like to see some other means to get rid of the leaves & yard waste that currently
goes to Earth Conservancy. Some options were discussed.
Mrs. Craig stated that the pool prices had not been raised in several years and that it was time to do so. After much
discussion, council discussed the possibility of raising all membership prices & pool party rental prices $10.00 each. Badge
prices & daily pool pass prices would be raised $1.00. The opening of the pool will be over Memorial Day Weekend.
Mayor Hoats stated that the Forty Fort/Kingston Little League parade will be held on April 13, 2013 and asked if any
council member would like to participate in their parade.
Manager, Barbara Fairchild, spoke to council regarding the following topics:
‐ Popple Construction is asking for final payment for the Welles St. Phase II Project
‐ Letter from DEP re: Flood Project
‐ Court Order from receiver for CENTAX
‐ Safety Committee meeting update
‐ CDBG Grant meeting – discussion on what money will be used for
‐ Code Enforcement Agreement w/Kingston
‐ Public Hearing for COMCAST contract – to be held at 7:00 PM on April 15, 2013 prior to work session
Mr. Chacke spoke about possible upcoming plans to rename the Forty Fort Park.
Robert Swaback asked if the borough had applied for emergency money that had been granted
to the county for hurricane damages.
With there being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM.
