Forty Fort Borough Special Council Meeting minutes Monday, September 21, 2020 The Forty Fort Borough council held a Special Meeting for General Purposes on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Forty Fort Borough Bldg., 1271 Wyoming Ave., with President, Jeff McLaughlin presiding. President McLaughlin called the special meeting to order at 7:00 PM with the following council members present: Phil Mertz, Kristy Dadurka, Frank Mazza, Tom Murray & Cara Devine. Dave Sieminski was absent. Also present were Mayor Andy Tuzinski, Police Chief Dan Hunsinger, DPW Supervisor, Rick Kamus & Manager, Bonnie Arnone. Mayor Tuzinski led with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Police Chief Hunsinger asked council to approve the revised Civil Service list for police officers that had been prepared by the Civil Service Commission. This was necessary because one of the officers that had been approved to offer employment to had turned down the offer. Motion by Mr. Mazza to accept the updated Civil Service list of eligible candidates for the Police Department. Second by Ms. Dadurka. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. Motion by Mr. Mertz to permit Chief Hunsinger to make an offer of employment to Richard Harding for the Full-time police position contingent on his passing physicals, availability, and probationary period. Second by Mr. Mazza. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. Motion by Ms. Dadurka to permit Chief Hunsinger to conduct interviews of the remaining two eligible candidates and chose the right candidate for the position should Mr. Harding not accept the position. Second by Ms. Devine. On the question: This list will remain in effect for one year. Should a candidate turn down the position now, that does not preclude them from being considered within that years’ time period. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. Motion by Ms. Devine to accept the letter of resignation as a part time police officer from Matthew Ogden. Second by Mr. Mertz. All council was in favor of this motion. Motion passed. With there being no further business to conduct, a motion to adjourn was made by Ms. Devine at 7:15 PM and seconded by Mr. Mertz. Respectfully submitted, Bonnie Arnone Borough Manager
