Those present were Rene Rodriguez, Chair, Aaron Markel, Vice Chair, Marc Hoffman, Director of Elections and Cathie Fisher Braman, Secretary. The Secretary’s report was accepted with corrections. At 5:50 p.m. Tyler Links from PrintElect joined the meeting to discuss the future of electronics for elections. Expresspoll Tablet by ESS&S was just brought out. Epollbook is being developed by the State of Virginia and has been approved by the Board of Elections. PrintElect five-year contract was discussed and it was decided to table this for a future time. The contract with Mr. Amin was discussed. A vote on the Security Plan was taken and it was a unanimous vote to accept the Plan with the addition of EPB serial numbers. The Director of Elections gave his report - attached. In preparation for the November Election the following dates were finalized: 8/18: Deadline for Elect to finalize candidates. 8/21: PRINTELECT creating/proofing ballots 8/28: Deadline to send PRINTELECT Ballot coding Order. 2. 9/1: ELECT goal to approve ballots 9/15: Deadline for ELECT to approve ballots. 9/22: Absentee Voting begins. L & A testing will be done Sunday, September 17 at noon. Discussion of training dates for the Officers of Election were determined as follows: Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs: October 17 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registrar’s Office Precincts 301 and 402: October 18 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 3rd Floor Fire Dept. Conference Room Precincts 101,201,401: October 19 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 3rd Floor Fire Dept. Conference Room Cap October 21 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registrar’s Office Make-ups To be determined.
