Roberson,Vice Chairperson Cathie Fisher Braman, Secretary FINAL MINUTES FROM JUNE 19, 2018 BOARD MEETING Meeting called to order at 4:38 p.m. In attendance: Vice Chair Roberson, Director Hoffman, and Secretary Braman Agenda Vice Chair Roberson motioned to accept the Agenda, Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously. Acceptance of the Minutes The Minutes of the May 8 meeting were accepted the minutes as amended, (the date of the next meeting changed to June 19). Vice Chair motioned to accept, seconded by Secretary Braman. Passed unanimously. Public Comment No one present to offer Public Comment Director’s Report Secretary Braman motioned to accept the Director’s Report (attached), Vice Chair Roberson seconded. Passed unanimously. Discussion of Elections Vice Chair Roberson motioned to postpone discussion of Incident logs from May and June and Campaign Guidelines until Chair Rodriguez can be present. Seconded by Secretary Braman. Passed unanimously. Discussion of Precinct 301 polling location. Chief Administrative Officer of City Schools, John Russ, has offered to have the Electoral Board visit Walker Grant Middle School to inspect the new area for a possible change of location for Precinct 301. Director Hoffman will contact Mr. Russ for a time for the Board to visit. Page 2. Discussion of Officer Applications and Recruitment Strategies: The following Officer of Election Applications came before the Board: Taylor Mobley Janine Stier Paul Stier Alyse Jones Stephanie Hein Vice Chair Roberson made a motion to accept the above as Officers of Election as of July 1. Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously. Secretary Braman will send out the proper paperwork. Director Hoffman presented some advertising ideas for recruitment of Officers of Election. No action taken. Vice Chair Roberson made a motion that he would work with Director Hoffman to adjust Precinct maps for 401. Seconded by Secretary Braman. Passed unanimously. Director Hoffman said the once a year maintenance on machines will be scheduled for July. Maintenance will also determine if one of the Automark machines repaired at their main office. Vice Chair Roberson motioned to move “Closed Session” until all Board members can be present. Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously. Vice Chair Roberson motioned to have a Training Workshop with the Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs to educate the Board on “Election Day Administration” for the past two Elections. Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously. Secretary Braman will contact the Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs to find an agreeable evening to meet. Vice Chair motioned to have a “Closed Session” to discuss Election training. Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously. Vice Chair Roberson motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 p.m. Secretary Braman seconded. Passed unanimously.
