January 6, 2025 The Fredericktown Village Council met in regular session on January 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fredericktown Municipal Building. PRESENT: Council Members Brewer, de Rojas, Hobson, Lanuzza, McKnight and Shoemaker; Administrator Snell; Chief Myers; Fiscal Officer Graves. Mayor Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. INVOCATION: Kathy Toms, Cornerstone Community Church. ELECT COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO-TEMPORE: • Hobson made a motion to nominate Lanuzza. Seconded by Shoemaker. Hobson made a motion to close the nominations. Seconded by Brewer. All Yea. Hobson made a motion to approve Lanuzza as Council President Pro-Tempore. Seconded by Shoemaker. Brewer, de Rojas, Hobson, McKnight and Shoemaker voted in favor of Lanuzza as Council President Pro-Tempore. Lanuzza abstained. MINUTES: • Lanuzza made a motion to approve the December 16, 2024 council meeting minutes. Seconded by Shoemaker. All Yea. VISITOR COMMENTS: • Bethany Peak – Audit Manage, Auditor of State’s Office was scheduled to be here, but rescheduled due to weather. She will attend the next meeting on January 21st. LEGISLATION: • (Third Reading) RESOLUTION NO. 2024-32 - A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MEMBERSHIP IN THE KNOX COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION McKnight made a motion to pass Resolution 2024-32. Seconded by Brewer. All Yea. OLD BUSINESS: • Water Improvements Project – Will be out to bid this Spring. • Sewer Plant Project – Gibson Chen and PW Tech Rep will be here Thursday to discuss the destruction of old plant. • Snell said Tom Carter would like to add one more unit to the additional five that he has planned to build on Tayor Street. Snell and Andy will look at plans. Units should be completed by end of 2025. NEW BUSINESS: • Mayor's 2025 Council Committees and Annual Appointments. Hobson made a motion to approve Council Committees and Annual Appointments for 2025. Seconded by Lanuzza. All yea. VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: None. FISCAL OFFICER'S REPORT: • Council reviewed the bills, financial reports and bank reconciliation statement for the month of December 2024. Hobson made a motion to approve the financial reports, bills and bank statement for December 2024. Seconded by Lanuzza. All Yea. POLICE CHIEF REPORT: • Ordering new cruiser on Tuesday, January 7th. • New cameras were installed at the Police Department. • Neighborhood Watch meeting, January 21st, 6:30 p.m., at the Police Department. SOLICITOR’S REPORT: None ZONING INSPECTOR’S REPORT: • Andy Fox gave 2024 report. Had 225 responses. 44 building permits were issued for the year. COMMITTEE REPORTS: • Safety, Public Works & Finance Committees – next meeting January 21st. • Planning Commission – next meeting January 27th. • Miscellaneous Committee Reports EXECUTIVE SESSION: • Lanuzza made a motion to enter into executive session to discuss contracts and compensation. Seconded by Hobson. All yea. Council entered into executive session at 7:17 p.m. Council returned to regular session at 7:21 p.m. ADJOURNMENT: Hobson made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Shoemaker.
