MINUTES AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 22, 2013 SPECIAL MEETING – 8:15 A.M. FREMONT MUNICIPAL AIRPORT 1203 West 23rd Street, Fremont, Nebraska PRESENT: Chairman Eric Johnson, Members Mike Kempenar, Michael McGillick, Dave Monke, Robert Steenblock and Ron Vlach ABSENT: Member Bill Dugan and Jake Haas GUESTS: Mayor Scott Getzschman, Planning Director Rian Harkins, Jim Kjeldgaard, Vic Rader and Lou Pofahl Chairman Johnson called the meeting to order and announced a copy of the Open Meeting Law was available to the public. Roll Call Vote was taken – 6 present. Approval of the October 18, 2013 minutes The minutes were not available. They will be included on the agenda for the December 2013 Meeting. Discuss local airport zoning regulations. An overview of the existing zoning map was reviewed. The FAA is encouraging the local Sponsors of FAA obligated airports to have some type of zoning in place. With current legislation the zoning on primary runways extends out an additional 7 miles. The State Nebraska Department of Aeronautics will be updating zoning maps for airports. It was discussed to have the local Airport Zoning Board for the City attend one of our meetings possibility once per year to review the zoning maps. Discuss traffic pattern for Runway 14/32 The discussion is to have the City coordinate with FAA to change the pattern back to right hand on 14. A motion was made by Steenblock and seconded by Vlach to have the City move forward with the coordination with FAA to make this happen. Terminal project updates Rian Harkins reported that scoping is about complete. When completed it will go to Council for approvals. Lou Pofahl mentioned that he would check on status of funding from FAA HQ Washington. Adjournment at 8:55 a.m. 1
