AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Meeting Minutes: March 15th, 2024 1. Meeting called to order with Open Meetings Act announcement. Meeting was called to order at 8:16 A.M. Open Meeting Act is posted on the wall of the Airport Terminal, the Act Poster was pointed out to those in attendance. 2. Roll call. Board Members Present: Alison Adams, Jeff Peterson, Eric Johnson, Dave Mitchell, Kirk Diers, Robert Steenblock, Levi Entz, and Vic Roeder. Absent member: Bill Dugan. 3. Approval of the February 16th, 2024 meeting minutes. Motion by Kirk Diers and seconded by Vic Roeder to approve. Motion passed by vote of members: Alison Adams, Jeff Peterson, Kirk Diers, Eric Johnson, Dave Mitchell, Robert Steenblock, Levi Entz, and Vic Roeder. Absent member: Bill Dugan. 4. Update on Runway Rehab Project a. The preconstruction meeting was completed last week. Construction will begin at 8:00 A.M. on March 18th, 2024. Construction will last approximately four months and be complete near mid-July. b. Discussion point on how many weather delays could be expected. 5. Discussion of Rawhide WFPO Drainage Project. a. Dodge County, NRD, and City of Fremont are part of a grant funded program to reduce flooding by the Rawhide Creek. The funds will be used to create two large detention cells and necessary ditch work. The detention cells would be 0.5 miles to a mile from the airport. b. A Zoom meeting is scheduled with Dodge County, NRD, and City of Fremont Public Works for Monday March 19th, 2024, and the invitation will be sent out to all AAC members able to attend. c. The FAA typically prefers 10,000 feet between airports and major waterways that  could be major bird habitats. Also, should contact USDA to discuss bird strikes. 6. Discussion of Library Storytime at the Airport. d. Discussion point on the airport being a location for a summer Library Storytime. 7. Spring Hangar Walk Through Scheduled. a. Will take place April 2nd, 2024, and letters have been mailed out to all tenants. 8. Action Items to Discuss – None. a. Discussion point on the Street Department doing minor surface repairs and sealing of areas not involved in rehab project during the runway closure. 9. Discussion of Maintenance Items. a. Plan to discuss concrete work around the hangars. b. Cable and boot replacement is being done as budget allows. Converting to straps for overheads would require an entirely new door set-up. c. The south apron patio column is cracking and sinking. 10. Adjournment. Motion by Jeff Peterson and seconded by Alison Adams to adjourn.
