A copy of the Open Meeting Law is posted for review by the public.  MINUTES OF PARKS & RECREATION BOARD MEETING Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 7:00 pm – Meeting Room of City Auditorium - 925 N Broad ST PRESENT: Dan Moran, Ashley Washburn, Connie Giese, Wendy Eairleywine, Nate Schwanke, Mark Jensen, Shane Wimer Jim Kuddes 1. Call to Order – Meeting convened at 7:05pm. The agenda displayed at City Hall, 400 E Military and was distributed to the Mayor, City Council and the Park Board, on May 6th, 2019 and is open to the public. The open meeting law is posted continually for public inspection. 2. Roll Call – 4 present. Christensen Hillis, Prince absent. 3. Reading of the Park & Recreation Board Minutes for April, 2019 – Motion was made by Giese, seconded by Eairleywine to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve as sent. Motion carried. 4. Request for use of Christensen Field by Ginger Rosenthal for Music Festival on September 28- 29th, 2019+ for Dodge County Flood Relief Fundraiser. After some discussion on if there would be any noise complaints from the campers, it was mentioned that there have been small music events at the facility before and have been no real issues in the past. Motion was made by Eairleywine, seconded by Washburn to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. Motion carried. 5. Request for Fee Waiver by Ginger Rosenthal for Music Festival on September 28-29th, 2019 for Dodge County Flood Relief Fundraiser. Motion was made by Eairleywine, seconded by Giese to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. Motion carried. 6. Request for use of Ronin Pool by Fremont High School Swim Team for summer workouts. After some discussion on what all it would take to have them use the pool, Schwanke informed that as long as the Swim Team was to provide an insurance policy listing the City as an additional insurer, and provides someone that is Lifeguard and CPO Certified, the Swim Team would be fine to use the Facility. Motion was made by Giese, seconded by Washburn to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. 7. Request for use of Clemmons Park by the Fremont YMCA for Boot Camps. There was a question on whether or not this would be an issue since the program would start before City Parks were open. Assistant City Administrator Wimer informed the Board that this would not be an issue if it was passed by the Board. Motion was made by Eairleywine, seconded by Giese to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. Motion carried.  8. Request for use of various parks for yoga classes. Motion was made by Eairleywine, seconded by Washburn to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. Motion carried. 9. Request for use of Ronin Pool on June 8, 2019 for FAST Swim Meet. Motion was made by Giese, seconded by Ashburn to support the project and forward it on to the City Council for final approval. Motion carried. 10. Recreation report a. Orientation has started for Summer Hires. b. Slow Pitch softball has started for the summer and will run through the first couple of weeks in August. c. Youth Baseball and Church league softball will start the first week of June. d. Pools will be getting filled this week. 11. Next Meeting – Tuesday, June 4th, 2019, Christensen Field Meeting Room. 12. Adjournment – motion was made by Eairleywine, seconded by Giese to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 pm.
