RIDGE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION, INC. BOARD MEETING Wednesday, March 13, 2019 12:00pm City Auditorium ROLL CALL PRESENT: NORMA JEANNE MCGILLICK JIM MANHART KIM KOSKI NICK LAMME JEFF HIVELY MARK JENSEN PAUL MARSH JOANNE THIETJE ABSENT: KIM BEAM KEVIN BLOEMKER DIAN CHRISTENSEN HILLIS SUSAN JACOBUS The Ridge Cemetery Association meeting was called to order at 12:00pm by President Lamme. The board met on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at noon in the City Auditorium Meeting. Quorum established. Public Meeting notice was published and copy of Open Meetings Law are posted for public inspection. The minutes of December 12, 2018 were emailed to everyone and copies were provided. Motion was made by Jim Manhart, seconded by Norma Jeanne McGillick to approve and file the minutes. Motion carried. Norma Jeanne presented the Treasurer’s report. As of March 13, 2019, the Ridge Cemetery Association bank balance was $13,874.03. Increases in balance were attributed to interest earned. Motion was made by Paul Marsh, seconded by Jim Manhart to approve and file the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS a. Boy Scout Headstone Straightening Project – Koski reported she contact Yogi Martin regarding this project. Yogi is a Scout Master and he will take this information to the monthly Scout Master Round Table for discussion. Yogi was enthusiastic about this possibly being an Eagle Scout project. b. Keno Grant Application Deadline April 1, 2019 – Koski will submit an application request for $10,000.00 on behalf of the Ridge Cemetery Association for continuation of the Stone Straightening Project at Ridge Cemetery. c. Follow Up on Fremont Monument Headstone Straightening Project – No Report. d. Kim Beam – research done on cemetery directories, kiosk – No Report. e. Non Profit biennial report due April 1 – Koski will file. NEW BUSINESS a. Officers elected annual meeting in May (with no meeting in May, will be done at June meeting) -By-laws don’t correspond with meeting dates. Election of officers will be done at June meeting. b. Jeff Hively Report -General Report: 11 funerals; 3 were cremations; 8 full funeral. Grave Sales: 3 – 8’; 0 – 10’ c. Kim Koski Report -Working on next 2-year budget -Working with Yogi Martin on Boy Scout headstone straightening project -Will work on getting an updated mailing list for donation/fundraising purposes ADJOURNMENT Motion was made by Manhart, seconded by Marsh to adjourn.
