Sloan City Clerk - Yvonne Spence, CMC Tuesday, November 18, 2014 6:00 PM Meeting Room A-2165, 2nd floor City of Clovis Joint Meeting The City Council met in joint session with the City of Clovis at the hour of 6:00 P.M. in Meeting Room A-2165 on the 2nd floor of City Hall, on the day above written. Meeting called to order by Council President Brandau Flag salute lead by Mayor Lynne Ashbeck Roll Call - City of Fresno Present: President Brandau Acting President Baines Councilmember Brand Councilmember Caprioglio Absent: Councilmember Olivier Councilmember Quintero Councilmember Xiong City of Fresno *Subject to mayoral veto Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final November 18, 2014 Roll Call - City of Clovis Present: Mayor Ashbeck Mayor Pro Tem Magsig Councilmember Whalen Councilmember Flores Councilmember Armstrong Introductory Comments: Council President Steve Brandau and Mayor Lynne Ashbeck Mayor Ashbeck noted that the Cities of Clovis and Fresno share many things and that we are better when we work together. President Brandau agreed there were many things the Cities could work together on which would be beneficial for both parties. President Brandau thanked his Chief of Staff Barsamian and Council Assistant Kolstad for their help organizing the joint meeting. President Brandau also introduced councilmember-elect Esmerelda Soria who was in the audience. ID#14-611 FRESNO CITY COUNCIL AND CLOVIS CITY COUNCIL JOINT MEETING AGENDA 1.) Job Creation (Lee Ann Eager) 2.) Trails Update (Mark Keppler) 3.) Water Update (Tommy Esqueda - Fresno) (Luke Serpa - Clovis) The Job Creation discussion consisted of a presentation by Lee Ann Eager, Economic Development Corporation CEO. Upon conclusion of Ms. Eager's presentation, the Councilmembers engaged her in a question and answer period. Mayor Ashbeck requested that Ms. Eager return a report to both Council's that looked at the economic development that has occurred in Omaha. The Trails Update discussion consisted of a presentation by Mark Keppler, Executive Director of the Maddy Institute. Upon conclusion of the presentation, the Councilmembers engaged Mr. Keppler in a question and answer period. Mr. Keppler asked the Councilmembers to pass resolutions in support of the upcoming FCTA measure before February 2015. The Water Update discussion consisted of presentations by Fresno Public Utilities Director Esqueda and Clovis Public Utilities Director Serpa. Members of the public shall have an opportunity to address the City Council concerning this matter. There were no comments from members of the public. Adjourned at 7:30 P.M. These minutes were approved by unanimous vote of the Fresno City Council during the December 4, 2014 Council meeting with President Brandau and Councilmember Xiong absent.
