North Central Fire Protection District v. City of Fresno Sponsors: City Attorney's Office DISCUSSED OPEN SESSION ID17-1633 Actions pertaining to North Central Fire Protection District: 1. ***RESOLUTION - 44th amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) No. 2017-165 appropriating $3,624,200 to fund the North Central Fire Protection District Contract for a full fiscal year of service (Requires 5 affirmative votes) (Subject to Mayor’s Veto) 2. ***RESOLUTION - 2nd amendment to the Position Authorization Resolution (PAR) No. 2017-166 adjusting positions in the Fire Department pursuant to North Central Fire Protection District Amendment (Subject to Mayor’s Veto) 3. Approve the Fifth Amendment to Service Agreement between the City of Fresno and the North Central Fire Protection District for Fire Protection and Emergency Services Sponsors: City Manager's Office City of Fresno ***Subject to Mayoral Veto Page 2 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final December 4, 2017 Council President Olivier asked staff how long has the deal been in place with North Central. Assistant City Manager Rudd responded that the City of Fresno entered into an agreement with North Central, December 2006. Council President Olivier continued to ask staff when did it come to the City of Fresno's attention that there was a discrepancy between what they were paying for City fire service. Staff responded the matter started to be look into about two years ago. Council President Olivier continued to ask how would you characterize the process of reaching an agreement with North Central Fire District and looking forward is staff encouraged that the agreement was settled and he thanked staff for their hard work. RESOLUTION 2017-315 ADOPTED RESOLUTION 2017-316 ADOPTED On motion of Councilmember Chavez, seconded by Councilmember Brandau, that the above Action Item be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7 - Olivier, Soria, Baines III, Brandau, Bredefeld, Caprioglio and Chavez City Council Adjourned at 2:13PM The above minutes were approved at the December 14, 2017 meeting with a motion from Councilmember Caprioglio and a second Councilmember Brandau.
