CEREMONIAL PRESENTATIONS
ID 21-250 Proclamation for “National Human Trafficking Awareness Month”
PRESENTED
COUNCILMEMBER REPORTS AND COMMENTS
Councilmember Soria announced last month she held several free food
distribution events and was able to provide over 1400 boxes of groceries to
the community. She thanked all volunteer and Local 155 Ironworkers. She
stated there will be several upcoming food distribution events and the
information will be provided on District 1 social media. Councilmember
Soria asked the Administration to make sure current Community Based
Organizations (CBO) meet with our local lobbyist regarding food
distribution. She announced the next coffee and conversation will be March
11, 2021 at 9:00 A.M., the community can participate via Facebook live. She
also spoke regarding the month of March is celebrating "Women History
Month."
Councilmember Arias thanked the Administration for the JSK irrigation
project and stated the soccer fields will be blocked off until the grass can
settle in. He thanked the community for rezone on Elm street. He spoke
regarding his budget community meetings to address the upcoming City
budget and asked for community input for areas in the City of Fresno.
Councilmember Maxwell stated last Monday, March 1, 2021 was the kickoff
of Zero Fair Clean Act where members of the community can ride buses for
free. He announced Wednesday, March 3, 2021 was the ribbon cutting
ceremony for Fresno American Indian Health Clinic on Shaw and Ninth. He
spoke regarding the Live with District 4 youth survey and asked for the
community to take the survey on District 4's Facebook page. The survey will
be open until the end of March. Councilmember Maxwell spoke regarding
the 100 days 100 trees initiative and stated last week they planted 80 trees
in the Sierra corridor next to Gettysburg to Shield Avenue.

Zoom. A meeting of the Finance and Audit Committee was held., there was
a report on the CAFR and a brief overview of outstanding audits. Last week
he joined Governor Newsom at the Firm Campus and announced vaccine
initiatives. This past Saturday there were clean up events held. Community
organizations will host a mattress drops off at one of the Elementary
schools. Code Enforcement hosted waste tire amnesty and collected a lot
of tires. He announced that he up will be attending food truck Fridays with
Mayor Dyer. There will be a Beautify Fresno event on Saturday, March 6,
2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Manchester. Monday, March 8, 2021
he will be hosting a Zoom meeting regarding Manchester Park updates and
get residents input.
Council Bredefeld spoke regarding the efforts by the Mayor on the highways
and have been successful. He asked if there are any plans to come back
into the chambers for Council meetings.
Council President Chavez thanked the Community Based Organizations
(CBO) who have been working and helping neighborhoods and spoke
regarding the vaccines and reopening school districts.
MAYOR/MANAGER REPORTS AND COMMENTS
Mayor Dyer spoke regarding last Saturday's Beautify Fresno event.
Highway City had over 100 volunteers. This Saturday there will be a
Beautify Fresno event starting at Manchester Mall. You can sign up at
beautifyfresno.org. He will be with District 7 all the way from Blackstone
and Shields to McKinley. Saturday youth forum will be held at 4pm.
Sunday he will be speaking at the Well Community Church. He provided an
update on Project Off Ramp, they started on highway 41. They have housed
133 individuals. He gave a shout out to Poverello House. They are now on
highway 99 around Ventura and Fresno Street, then highway 180 between
First and 11th Street.
City Manager Esqueda updated the council on the tray memos that have
been sent to the districts.

Addendum to Mitigated Negative Declaration No. A-16-015
adopted by the Fresno City Council on March 2, 2017 for the
Fresno Active Transportation Plan, Program Environmental Impact
Report SCH No. 2012041009 certified by the Fresno City Council
on October 20, 2016 for the Downtown Plans and Code, and Final
