Acting Secretary Designee, Karnell Grijalva was also present. 2. Approval of Minutes A. July 31, 2017 On motion of Vice Chair Tracy, seconded by Board Member Smith, the above Action Item was approved. Old Business A. Update regarding Housing Program Supervisor recruitment Personnel Services Assistant Director, TJ Miller, and Operations Manager, Sandra ChavezMartin provided an update and answered questions from the Board on status of the Housing Program Supervisor recruitment. 4. New Business A. Schedule Meeting(s) to Conduct a Public Employee Discipline Appeal Hearing [Pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code Section 3-284] Appointing Authority Representative, Deputy City Attorney II, Jennifer DeRuosi, was present. The Appellant and/or Representative was not present. Jennifer DeRuosi requested to go forward with scheduling of the hearing. The Board approved request and Hearing on Appeal was scheduled for October 25, 2017. B. Schedule Meeting(s) to Conduct a Public Employee Discipline Appeal Hearing [Pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code Section 3-284] Appointing Authority Representative, Deputy City Attorney II, Jennifer DeRuosi, was present. The Appellant was present without Representation. Hearing on Appeal was scheduled for November 8, 2017 and November 9, 2017. 5. Hearing on Appeal A. Closed Session - Continued Public Discipline/Dismissal/Release [Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954] Hearing on Appeal withdrawn due to Settlement. 6. Unscheduled Public Communications City of Fresno ***Subject to Mayoral Veto Page 2 Civil Service Board Meeting Minutes August 17, 2017 Director of Personnel Services, Jeffrey Cardell, announced to the Board that Appointment of an additional Board Member would be addressed at the City Council meeting in the afternoon. Mr Cardell informed the Board that If this Appointment is approved by City Council that would bring the Civil Service Board Commission to capacity of 5 members. 7.
