Roll Call Present 5 - Chairperson Michael McDonald, Vice Chair Jack Tracy, Board Member Lynda Snauffer, Board Member Al Smith, and Board Member Dean Eller Board Counsel, Dan McCloskey was present and represented the Board. Acting Secretary Designee, Stephanie Martinez, was also present. 2. Approval of Minutes A. November 8, 2017 On motion of Vice Chair Tracy, seconded by Board Member Smith, that the November 8, 2017 minutes be approved. November 14, 2017 On motion of Board Member Smith, seconded by Vice Chair Tracy, that the November 14, 2017 minutes be approved. City of Fresno Deputy City Attorney III, Stephanie Snyder, was introduced to the Board by Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi. Ms. Snyder will be assisting with Civil Service Board matters in the future. 3. New Business A. Schedule Meeting(s) to Conduct a Public Employee Discipline Appeal Hearing [Pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code Section 3-284] Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, was present on behalf of the Appointing Authority. Labor Representative, Tony Silva, was present on behalf of the Appellant. Hearing on Appeal was scheduled for February 27, 2018 at 9:00am. 4. Old Business A. Closed Session - Continued Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release [Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954] On motion of Board Member Snauffer, seconded by Vice Chair Tracy, that the above Action Item be Approved and Returned Signed. The Appellant nor Representative were present. The Board convened into Executive Session at 9:26am. The Board reconvened into Closed Session at 9:33am. The parties present agreed to place Hearing on Appeal for rescheduling purposes on the February 27, 2018 Civil Service Board meeting agenda. The Board reconvened into Open Session at 9:34am. 6. Schedule Spring 2018 Administrative Meeting The Board set May 2, 2018 at 2:00pm for the Board Spring 2018 Administrative Meeting. 7. Unscheduled Public Communications None 8.
