Approval of Minutes ID#15-290 Approval of the Disability Advisory Commission Minutes from March 10, 2015 On motion of Board Member Randall, seconded by Vice Chair Potter, the above Action Item be approved. Member Reports and Comments Member Reyes Acosta shared that Resources for Independence Central Valley is currently fundraising with Fresno State for the operation of Inspiration Park. She noted that they are exploring the potential for a relationship with the Boys & Girls Club for activities. Community members interested in donating can go to www.RICV.org. Member Bronson shared the DHHSC has their "Signing Full Throttle" fundraiser last Saturday. It was small and they expect the event to grow in future years. She noted that this Saturday they will host a Deaf Dancer from the Bay area. 4. Secretary's Report Secretary Mulhall reported that the City has created a brochure of ADA Frequently Asked Questions for Business Owners as a means of providing information and resources about the ADA. 5. Unscheduled Communication / Public Comments No Public Comments. This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons desiring to address the DAC on any matter not on this agenda (presentation are limited to 3 minutes per person). The DAC is generally legally prohibited from taking any action on informationpresented in unscheduled communication until subsequent meetings. 6. Action Items 6-A. ID#15-291 Citywide Development Code Update Arnoldo Rodriguez from Development and Resource Management (DARM) Department presented on the Updated Citywide Development Code, inviting the DAC to submit comments before June 1, 2015. Chair Pitt established the Development Code Update task Force with the purpose of submitting comments on the update. Member of the public, Tommy Tahami spoke on this item, stating that he has experienced a commercial property he owns being rezoned. On motion of Board Member Flores, seconded by Board Member Bronson, Member Elvington shall create comments on the development code on behalf of the DAC and submit by June 1, 2015. The motion PASSED by the following vote: Aye: 6 - Chairperson Pitt, Vice Chair Potter, Board Member Reyes Acosta, Board Member Bronson, Board Member Flores and Board Member Randall Abstain: 1 - Board Member (ex officio) Duarte and Board Member Elvington 6-B. ID#15-293 2015 DAC Meeting Schedule Changes On motion of Board Member Elvington, seconded by Board Member Randall, the May 2015 meeting is cancelled. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7 - Chairperson Pitt, Vice Chair Potter, Board Member Reyes Acosta, Board Member Bronson, Board Member Elvington, Board Member Flores and Board Member Randall 7. Subcommittee Reports 7-A. Outreach Subcommittee No action. 7-B. Transportation Subcommittee ID#15-292 Appointment of Edward LaComb to the DAC Transportation Subcommittee On motion of Board Member Reyes Acosta, seconded by Vice Chair Potter, that the above Action Item be approved.
