MEETING OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD GEORGE A. PUREFOY MUNICIPAL CENTER THIRD FLOOR CONFERENCE, ROOM C302 6101 FRISCO SQUARE BLVD. FRISCO, TEXAS 75034 6:30 PM THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2019 MINUTES Citizens are welcome to speak during Citizen’s Input or during an Agenda item. Please fill out a comment card prior to the meeting, indicating when you would like to speak and submit it to staff. You will be given up to 5 minutes. During Citizen’s Input, the Board can listen, but they cannot provide feedback at that time. During the Agenda item, the Board can comment or ask questions regarding your input. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Amy Deatherage called the Meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. 1. CITIZEN INPUT No citizen input. Page 1 of 3 REPORTS 2. Parks and Recreation Monthly Report regarding Park and Trail Development, Facilities, Special Events and Youth Development. Assistant Director Rick Wieland reviewed the report with the Board and informed them that The Grove construction is on schedule, the Community Garden is progressing, and the Frisco Athletic Center is concluding the summer season. CONSENT AGENDA (Items placed on the Consent Agenda are considered routine in nature and are considered non-controversial. The Consent Agenda can be acted upon in one motion. A majority of the Board is required to remove any item for discussion and separate action. Board members may vote nay on any single item without comment and may submit written comments as part of the official record.) 3. Consider and act upon approval of Minutes. A. July 11, 2019 Regular Meeting of the Frisco Parks and Recreation Board. Board Member Geoffrey Davis moved to approve the July 11, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes of the Parks & Recreation Board. Secretary Sean Merrell seconded. Passed Vote: 6 - 0 For: Vice Chairman Shane Gilmore, Secretary Sean Merrell, Board Member Geoffrey Davis, Board Member Laura Crow, Board Member Loren Sauer, Board Member Donna-Marie Schmittler Against: (None) REGULAR AGENDA 4. Bicycle Advisory Committee Update. Assistant Director Rick Wieland updated the Board about the four new members that were added to the Frisco Bicycle Advisory Committee. Staff is currently reviewing and updating the Bicycle Advisory Committee Bylaws. 5. Overview of Park Planning Process. Staff will address at a future meeting. Page 2 of 3 6. Update on Cityworks. Parks Services Manager Eddie Camacho gave a report of Service Requests received by the Parks and Recreation Department for the month of July. Secretary Sean Merrell asked that the Board be given a report once every three months. 7. Recommendations for future Agenda topics.  Update on Park Naming Committee.  Sub-Committee report review.  Update of Bicycle Advisory Committee Bylaws. ADJOURN Vice Chairman Shane Gilmore moved to adjourn at 7:40 pm. Board Member Donna-Marie Schmittler seconded.
