CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The Civil Service Commission met in Regular Session on Tuesday May 1, 2012, at Gahanna City Hall, 200 South Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio. Chair Paul Leithart called the meeting to order at 6:48 p.m. Agenda for this meeting was published on April 25, 2012. Present 5 - Paul L. Bittner, Paul L. Bittner, Paul L. Bittner, David Schroeder, and Judith Glenn 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA - None. 3. HEARING OF VISITORS - None. 4. APPEAL/GRIEVANCE HEARINGS - None. 5 UNFINISHED BUSINESS 2011-0064 Sherwood said the Rules & Regulations will have first reading at the May 7th Council meeting then go to committee and have second reading on May 21st, and if passed by Council then it is 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor; would go into effect around June 22nd. 6. NEW BUSINESS - None. 7. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS - None. 8. OFFICIAL REPORTS City of Gahanna Page 1 Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes May 1, 2012 a. Director of Human Resources Wadley said a Recreation Specialist has resigned; is a classified position; position was posted and we have 45 to 50 applications; no test was given as there is not a proper test for this position; will begin the screening process soon. b. Chairman Leithart said I will miss most of you; the Commission does excellent work; Bittner and Foster have been great additions. 9. POLL COMMISSION FOR COMMENT Bittner thanked members who attended his father's funeral; said it was greatly appreciated as was the sympathy card. Glenn said I was the first clerk of Civil Service 42 years ago when Gahanna became a City; so many changes; have enjoyed working with everyone. Sherwood said we will be meeting in January ever year to organize. Schroeder said have had five years of fellowship; ups and downs; fond memories; appreciate you all putting up with me on occasion; hope I have added positively to the process; hope to see you all more than once a year. 10.
