Item From Court 2014-0141 Court Supporting Docs Attachments: 513.121 MARIHAUNA DRUG PARAPHERNALIA 1. Code Change - Section 513.121 Kneeland called the meeting for Monday, September 22, 2014 to order; we have one item on the agenda; it is a Code change for Section 513.121; who wants to address this. Angelou said it looks like a one word change from "shall to may". Lt. Williams said it was inconsistent with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC); we wanted to be consistent and give the Magistrate discretion over the penalties. Mayor said a little background; with the new Magistrate in place we had an opportunity to have a meeting; idea is to meet quarterly with myself, Police command, City Attorney and the Court leadership; we will share ideas and have suggestions on Code; enforcement questions; will smooth relationships between the Court and the Police Department; thought the first one went well; this change comes as a City of Gahanna Page 1 Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes September 22, 2014 result of that meeting. Kneeland said we need legislation to make that change. Ewald said it needs to be "may". Leeseberg said we also need to correct the spelling of Marihuana. McWilliams said that is the ORC spelling; there is no typo. Kneeland verified that all were ok with consent agenda. Meeting Adjourned.
