CALL TO ORDER: Councilmember Michael Schnetzer, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. The agenda was published on September 15, 2023. Councilmember Nancy McGregor was absent. All other members were present for the meeting. There were no additions or corrections to the agenda. B. ITEMS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE: RES-0030-2023 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS AND RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX LEVIES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR Miranda Vollmer, Senior Director of Administrative Services, reported that this item is requested to accept, authorize, and certify the city's property tax amounts and rates. Each July, the City of Gahanna files its tax budget with the county. After the tax budget is filed, the Franklin County Budget Commission sends each subdivision a resolution that must be passed by October 1. She noted the City of Gahanna was in receipt of this resolution. It will authorize the necessary tax levies and certifies the levies to the Franklin County auditor. Vollmer noted the resolution sets the distribution of the city's 2.4 mills between the General Fund, Bond Retirement Fund, and Police Pension Fund and the amount of the estimated property tax revenue for the upcoming year distributed amongst each of those funds. She noted that the agenda attachment included the tax rates and amounts. Chairman Schnetzer asked if there were any questions from the committee on the requested resolution. There were none. The item proceeds to the regular Council agenda with no need to come back to committee. Recommendation: Introduction/Adoption on Regular Agenda on 9/18/2023.
