CALL MEETING TO ORDER Allinder, Chair called the August 8, 2018 Landscape Board meeting to order at 6:01pm at City Hall. B. ROLL CALL Present 5 - Melissa Hyde, Kevin Dengel , Jane Allinder, Matt Winger, and Matt Winger Absent 1 - Mark DiGiando C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion was made by Hyde, seconded by Winger, to approve the minutes from the April 11, 2018 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Hyde, Dengel, Allinder and Winger Absent: 1- DiGiando 2018-0158 LBmins4-11-18 D. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA Barr added to Old Business: Ward 1 Park, BWT Section 4, and Tree City USA Growth Awards updates. E. HEARING OF VISITORS none F. OLD BUSINESS Tree City USA Growth Award Ferrell shared that retired City Forester, Rob Wendling, new City Forester Julie Hussey and Alan Little are working on the Growth Award for 2018. BWT Section 4 Barr shared that Stoneybrook has had the old building removed, and the City of Gahanna Page 1 Landscape Board Meeting Minutes August 8, 2018 trail build has begun. The trail should be completed by the end of the year. Ward 1 Park Update Barr shared that Ward 1 Park is progressing on schedule. The playground is almost completed, the utilities are being installed for the restroom building, the parking lot has been started. Construction fencing will remain around the playground until the opening of the park. The expected ribbon cutting will be the second or third week in October. G. NEW BUSINESS i. Staff update Barr introduced the new City Forester, Julie Hussey. Hussey shared that she worked for two years as the Assistant City Forester for the City of Dublin, and Dawes Arboretum for almost two years on ecological restoration and wildlife forestry. Hussey received her degree from OSU in Forestry and Wildlife. H. CORRESPONDENCE AND ACTIONS None I. POLL MEMBERS FOR COMMENT None J.
