Guests: 1. Rose Eason, Executive Director, gallupARTS and Kara Smith, Executive Director Gallup Main Street Arts and Cultural District – proposal for sponsorship of a mural 2. Emerald Tanner and Kara Smith, Executive Director, Gallup Main Street Arts & Cultural District – MOU between Gallup BID and GMSACD for FY 20. Voting items: Motion to approve gallupARTS sign grant application. Cost $595.72. BID reimbursement (75%) $446.79. Motion to vote on personnel matter, related to the BID Executive Director, Pursuant to Section 10-15-1-H(2) of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act. Motion to approve providing $5,000 to Gallup Main Street Arts and Cultural District. Motion to participate with GGEDC on Retail Attraction Initiative Discussion items: Sign Grant program: signs in development – Healing Hands Studio Quintana Music Plan to fund façade and other building improvements for existing buildings within the BID district. It may enable creation of a fund that will be larger than the fund currently used for improvements. Coal Avenue Commons project update – status and 90% complete renderings City of Gallup housing study will begin Other discussion. Reports – August 19 – met with Tony Gonzales, CPA to review potential BID façade improvement program August 20 – Met with Robyne Beaubien, NM Main Street, Kara Smith, GMSACD and Rose Eason to discuss development of a unique “brand” for downtown Gallup August 21 – Met with Rose Eason to discuss BID sign grant opportunity of a new sign on front of Gallery 123/gallup ARTS August 26 – Met with Sherman McCorkle in Albuquerque to discuss potential investment opportunities in Gallup August 26 – Met with Jacqueline Martinez, Senior Analyst, NM LFC, to discuss funding ideas for downtown Gallup sidewalk replacement program. September 4 - GGEDC meeting to launch the Industrial Workforce Training Program September 5 – BID Executive Committee meeting September 11 – Met with Bruce Armstrong, Economic Development Director, GGEDC Date of next BID Board meeting – October 17, 2019, 3 pm, at Rico Motors Motion to adjourn
