Discussion Items -
Coal Avenue Commons project, including Walkway area, update – City Manager
Ustick. The lights for overhead lighting along the 200 block of W Coal Avenue are
backordered. When they have been received, that block will be partially closed to
allow installation. The lighting to be installed in the Walkway is scheduled to be
shipped to Gallup on September 23.
Coal Avenue Commons ribbon cutting will be take place on August 24.
Resumption of Arts Crawl – October event; City celebration of completion of Coal
Avenue Commons project
Red Rock Insurance Agency sign grant reimbursement – 1. Sign: refurbish sign
cabinet: repair, paint, replace lighting with LED lighting, design, fabricate and install
new sign face; 2. Awning - replace existing fabric with aluminum and fabric.
Total cost: $6,525.83. BID reimbursement: $4894.37
CHA’ AHH 107 West. Rt. 66, sign grant reimbursement – Cost of project: $1152.73.

Other Discussion
A Safety and Security meeting was held on August 18. The meeting was hosted by
Red Rock Insurance Agency. Attendees included: Councilor Linda Garcia; Capt.
Padovitch, Gallup PD; Gallup FD; Robert Hamblen, Gallup Planning Dept.; Bill Lee,
Gallup McKinley Chamber of Commerce; Capt. Tovar, Red Rock Security and several
Gallup business owners. The main topic of discussion was the installation of gates at
the 2nd Street and 3rd Street entrances to the alley between Rt. 66 and the 200 block
of W. Coal Avenue.

District painted trash can receptacles that have been damaged
