Guest presenter: Evan Williams, Executive Director, NWNMCOG – Presented
an overview of proposed regional economic development office to be created
by NWNMCOG. It will become a separate organization.
Discussion items
Coal Avenue Commons project, Phase 2, update and schedule - City Public
Works Director: The timeline for the project(s) will be established during
planning meetings with contractor, Murphy Builders, which will be approved
by Gallup City Council.
- reconstruction of infrastructure under the intersection at 2nd and W.
Coal Avenue
- project to divert effluent water prior to closing off the pipes at the 2nd
& Coal intersection – the wastewater will be routed across Coal Avenue
through a hose
- reconstruction of 100 block of West Coal Avenue, including water,
sewer and electric infrastructure
Potential sign grant application – Secret Canyon Jewelry Store, 101 W Rt. 66
is in discussions with Dynamic Signs to design and install a new sign for the
new business that occupies 101 W. Rt 66
BID MOU with REDP alliance and BID-REDP - NDC agreement. The extension
of BID-NDC contract for one more year will include an adjustment for
inflation. The fee for services for the REDP alliance will be $84,000. Last year
it was $78,000. Fee is split equally among REDP alliance members.
Discussion Arts Crawl logistics, including use of West Coal between 3rd and
5th for the event during the period when the 100 block of West Coal is under
construction and timeline for construction in the alley between 2nd and 3rd.
The April event will be held between 1st Street and 3rd Street, per usual.
Resume BID reimbursement program for Downtown events by others: Lions
Club Rodeo requested event support for the Downtown portion of the annual
Lions Club Rodeo events.
