3. Lighted Streetliner display project

Alley infrastructure replacement project, between 2nd & 3 Streets and
Coal Avenue & Aztec Avenue – update by City Manager
Quiet zone in downtown at RR crossings – update by City Manager
Downtown Coordinating Committee meeting was cancelled due to scheduling mishap
Nightly Indian Dances Project
BID received an invitation to bid on planning and managing the 2023 season of
Nightly Indian Dances to be held at Courthouse Plaza, sponsored, including all
funding, by City of Gallup.
City transfers funds to BID on a 120 day payment cycle, BID notified City of Gallup
that it cannot respond to the RFP for the planning and management of the Indian
Dances program. If selected, BID could not carry the costs for 120 days or more.
Sign grant requests update:
Goldie-Luxe Studio, Green Scene and Malone Skate Boards are finalizing design
concepts.
A behavioral health medical clinic that plans to open on W. Coal is discussing
signage options with sign company
Silver Dust Trading will request BID sign grant
Cost estimates from Red Rock Security:
Rates for 2023 Events will be as follows -
1. Security guards for monthly Arts Crawl events from April to October, and
possibly November. - $30 per hr,per officer
2. Security guards for the annual Ride Flight Cruise event on the last
weekend in July.- $30 per hr per officer
3. Downtown bicycle guards patrols in July and August. $27.5 p/hr per officer
Annual GGEDC Economic Development Week program
Request from Gallup Main Street Arts & Cultural District for BID “Events by
others” support. GMSACD received a LEVITT AMP Foundation grant to hold
outdoor concerts series during the Summer. The foundation wants its grant
recipients to obtain some private sector support, as a “match” against the
grant funding. BID could provide support in the Friends of Levitt AMP
category. The concerts are held in the Courthouse Plaza and attract hundreds
of visitors.
Programs discussed at length during Board meetings in 2017-2018 that
should be activated:
- Sidewalk program
- Investment Consortium
- Catalytic Projects plan provided by consultant Elmo Baca.
A BID Board work session will be held to review in detail these three projects,
plus the 2023 Downtown Bicycle Security patrols,
