Former Lowe’s Plaza property - update by Mayor Bonaguidi - no change in situation
Monthly Arts Crawl event report -large crowd, good weather, good performers, arts vendors
did well.
Downtown Bicycle Security Patrols for summer season
Downtown Trash Receptacle - update by Archie Baca: Archie worked with local artist Ric
Sarracinio to repaint trash receptacles that had been damaged or badly weathered. Finished
project looks good, receiving many compliments.
Lighted Streetliner project - in planning phase - securing engineering drawings required for
City Permit.
Kiosk repairs - update by F. Bee. Damaged kiosks have ben repaired with new tempered glass
panels, new downtown store locator maps, replaced engraved heavy aluminum doors on two
kiosks.
FY25 budget discussion postponed to September Board meeting.
Other Discussion
There was a discussion about the effectiveness of the Red Rock Security Downtown bicycle
patrols during 2024. Board agreed to continue the patrols until September 4th.

Meetings with Dynamic Signs about the poles for the lighted Streetliner project
3. Beautification/Signage
Repaint/replace the painted Welcome portion of the BID’s monuments at gateway locations -
contract approved with Dynamic Signs Company.
Repaired BID kiosks
4. Security
Red Rock Security patrol hired for Arts Crawl and Friday Night Rides events; Bicycle security
patrols hired for mid-June until August 13th. Board extended that assignment to September
4th.
5. Events
Gallup Main Street Arts & Cultural District will again request BID downtown event marketing
reimbursement grant for Levitt AMP Music Concert Series, which takes place monthly at the
Courthouse Plaza.
August Arts Crawl event was a success
Ride Flight Cruise Event was successful
6. Economic Development
I-40 Corridor Study
Gallup Master Plan
Route 66 parking issues and NM DOT Safety Plan. Attended NM DOT Traffic summit in
Albuquerque
Meetings with Rep. Debra Sarinana, Sherman McCorkle, and Lisa Kuuttila (UNM) re:
presentation to NM Legislature STTC Committee
Introduced glass making firm to NM Bioscience and NM MEP
Meetings with new owner of 201 West Rt. 66, a former bank building built in 1904. Assisted
structural engineer Bill Druc with his examination of this building.
7. Misc
City Council approved two new members to fill two vacancies on Gallup Business Improvement
District Board of Directors;
