Call to order - 3:10 PM

Downtown trash/litter removal:
Councilor Garcia spoke about a litter pick-up effort performed by local prisoners, in
the custody of McKinley County Sheriff.
Anna Biava described how that effort was organized and managed. It was an effort
organized by McKinley County Sherriff and his wife to help clean up Gallup. It is not
an on-going program of McKinley County.
Prisoners cannot be placed into the custody of an economic development non-profit
organization.
Lighted Streetliner project - engineering documents and site plan are being prepared
by DiPauli Engineering. The date to use those documents to apply to City of Gallup
for the sign permit is expected to be in the last week of December 2024. DiPauli
Engineering will apply, on behalf of the BID, for the needed permit.
Coal Avenue Commons 2025 – gallupARTS and Gallup BID have discussed the
potential for expanding the Coal Avenue Event Street concept one block east and one
block west along Coal Avenue. COG Director Williams is also very interested in
pursuing this work. Mr. Williams and L. Bonaguidi recently attended an annual
conference of the National Association of Directors Organization (the national COG
association), where Gallup was presented an award for excellence for the Coal
Avenue Project.
Gallup Metropolitan Redevelopment Plan (MRA) - Review of tasks/projects on the
Implementation page of the MRA Plan, highlighting tasks assigned to BID.
New Mexico Route 66 Centennial Coordination Group Stakeholder Meeting #5: NM
will provide funding for Rt. 66 projects that draw attention to Rt. 66 through NM
during the 100 Anniversary year celebration.
Report on Infrastructure Finance Conference, October 28 -30: NM Finance
Department is willing to be more flexible in awarding funding to applicants.

Mayor of Grants, Rose Eason (gallupARTS), Matt Robinson (City of Gallup) and two
marketing technology firms that worked for the Route 66 Committee during the past
year.

Red Rock Security patrol hired for Arts Crawl, Friday Night Rides events, Annual Ride
Flight Cruise event; Bicycle security patrols hired from mid-June until September
4th.
5. Events
Gallup Main Street Arts & Cultural District submitted request for BID downtown event
marketing reimbursement grant for Levitt AMP Music Concert Series, which takes
place monthly at the Courthouse Plaza.

- Meetings with Rep. Sarinana, Sherman McCorkle, Lisa Kuuttila (UNM) and Nora

- Meetings with new owners of 201 W. Hwy 66. Examination of building, twice, with
structural engineer Bill Druc and three times with architect Tina Reames. Meeting
with contractor, owners of 201 W. Hwy 66, including examination of building.
- Indian Jewelry Supply building on East Coal Avenue status update - transfer of
building to UNM Foundation delayed by protest of neighboring property owner.
