City Council

Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Gallup City Council, City of Gallup, New Mexico, held at the El Morro Events Center, 210 South Second Street, at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jackie McKinney. Upon toll call, the following were present: Mayor: Jackie McKinney Councilors: Linda Garcia Allan Landavazo Fran Palochak Absent: Yogash Kumar, Councilor Also present: Maryann Ustick, City Manager George Kozeliski, City Attorney Kb Abeita, Human Resources Director Councilor Palochak made the motion to adjourn into closed session for the purpose of discussing limited personnel matters relative to the hiring of a City Attorney. Seconded by Councilor Landavazo. Councilors Palochak, Landavazo, Garcia and Mayor McKinney all voted yes. The Mayor and Councilors adjourned into closed session pursuant to §10-15-1-H(2) NMSA 1978 Comp. (as revised). Councilor Landavazo made the motion to reconvene the Special Meeting. Seconded by Councilor Pabochak. Roll call: Councilors Landavazo, Pabochak, Garcia and Mayor McKinney all voted yes. Councilor Landavazo made the motion to recess and to reconvene the Special Meeting on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mayor and City Manager’s Conference Room at Gallup City Hall. Seconded by Councilor Palochak. Roll call: Councilors Landavazo, Palochak, Garcia and Mayor McKinney all voted yes. The Special Meeting was adjourned until Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mayor and City Manager’s Conference Room at Gallup City Hall. At the reconvened Special Meeting, Mayor McKinney called the meeting to order. Mayor McKinney and Councilors Garcia, Landavazo and Palochak were present. Councilor Kumar was absent. The Mayor and Councilors adjourned into closed session pursuant to §10-15-1-H(2) NMSA 1978 Comp. (as revised). Councilor Palochak made the motion to reconvene the Special Meeting. Seconded by Councilor Garcia. Roll call: Councilors Palochak, Garcia, Landavazo and Mayor McKinney all voted yes. Mayor McKinney certified for the record that the matters discussed during the closed session were limited to personnel matters relative to the hiring of a City Attorney. There being no further Councilor Palochak made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Councilor Landavazo.
