Call Meeting to Order – 10:00 A.M.
Roll Call: Phyllis Johnson, Dennis McCall, Brendan Moore, Libby Robbins, Joan Werblun
Advisor: Monica Lopez – Parks & Recreation – Libby Robbins Tardy
Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission
on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item.
Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit
comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes.
Acceptance of Minutes: Meeting of April 24, 2025 as amended Libby Robbins motioned the acceptance
of the minutes for April 24, 2025; Phyllis Johnson Seconded the motion.
Presentation:
A. New Business:
1. Talk to a Commissioner Program
COA needs to communicate with council; hard to share if we don’t talk to the
seniors
Joan Werblun; would like to create a protocol
o Could start with 15 minute meetings with commissioners
o Seniors could call the Galt Senior Resource Center to schedule their times
Mondays is a good day

2. Volunteer Hours Tracking
Joan Werblun – Track with Galt Community Resource Center
3. Market Vendor Procedure Joan Werblun C.O.A. sponsoring a booths for seniors to use 1
per year per senior need to create a procedure --. Apply, review, and choose. Joan to
create application. Libby Robbins can start advertising.
4. Senior Transportation
Red Hawk Busses are broken down. Phyllis Johnson has called local buses enterprise
rentals for 7/18 7/17 pickup runs 15 passangers vans $161.32 each for the day. $1,400 to
rent a charter bus. Monica Lopez will check with city to see if allowed.
A. Old Business:
1. Bingo (All)
Joan Werblun working on wording, changing rules.
-complaints about too many speakers coming in.
-creating a form to fill out, will be revised and scheduled once a month.
- Apt will be revised.
-No more personal announcements.
Brendan Moore emails asking to speak/ adding to logs to track review apps.
2. Bingo Procedures and Protocols (McCall/Robbins);
Add to next agenda.
3. SMUD Pop Up Event – Enrolling in low income programs, etc.(ALL)
Libby Robbins pop up on a Thursday first come first serve, ads. Will schedule soon.
4. GSRC (McCall)
Nothing new.
5. Activities for Seniors (Moore/Robbins) –
Libby Robbins walking at parks created flier will email to all. Once a month 2nd with
rotating through parks starting in June.
Trip to cal-waste coming 6/6 10 am -12pm
6. Bus Trips for Seniors to Casinos Update (Robbins/Johnson)
Add for trip should be in Herald.
7. Senior Exercise/Walking Circuits (McCall)
Move idem to 5.
8. Benches Around the City (McCall)
Libby Robbins will send questions to Monica Lopez.
9. LAPAD Action Plan Update (Johnson)
