Call Meeting to Order – Jackie Call to Order – 10:05
Roll Call: Phyllis Johnson - Audio Conference Call, Dennis McCall, Brendan Moore – Absent, Libby Robbins,
Joan Werblun
Advisor: Jackie Garcia – Parks & Recreation
Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission
on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item.
Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit
comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes.
Acceptance of Minutes: Meeting of Thursday May 22, 2025 – Joan motioned the acceptance and Libby
seconded (revised version went out morning of June 26)
Presentation:
- Jackie motioned to request to speak on Staff Comments:
- Direction of City Commission – there were concerns on not collectively dealing with issues
- Libby: revisit Commission on Aging presence on the newspaper (Senior Column) and suggested to
create flyers to put out into businesses
- Phyllis:
- create a Galt Senior Event Calendar
-bring this to Senior Living (Motioned to put onto Agenda for next)
- Business cards – Jackie motioned to add onto New Business for next meeting, Joan second
A. New Business:
1. Be Aware – Be Prepared Event
- Joan: would like to start a Disaster Help Program; asked if Commission can be a part of this
- Libby: suggested Commission on Aging and Safety Commission work together on this
- Joan motioned to put this topic onto New Business for next meeting, All In Favor
2. Legal Service Presentation – Thursday July 10, 2025
- Bring policy and application for Legal Service Presentation to next meeting
- SMUD was approved: July 10th 11am-12pm
A. Old Business:
1. Talk to a Commissioner Program
- Joan motioned to do this program and Dennis seconded
- Meet with seniors twice a month, 2 Mondays, before Bingo 11am-12:30pm
- Need to identify a room/location for event
- Joan: wants to publish to newspaper
- Walking Program - Libby
- Senior walking in the park – occurs once a month
- Starting July 9th – Libby would like it to be shared on social media
2. Volunteer Hours Tracking – Move to next meeting
3. Market Vendor Procedure – Move to next meeting
4. Senior Transportation
- Libby: motioned to move Senior Transportation to New Business for next meeting
- Joan: asked if there could be a formal budget and expense sheet made for Commission on
Aging
- Motion to move finance and budget to move to New Business (including current balance and
spent and leftover)

Commissioners’ Reports:
Chairperson J. Werblun: Senior Living: Virus (respiratory infections) going around due to AC units,
elevator issues some seniors cannot go up and down without it, also spoke on carbon monoxide
detector not working properly about a year ago
Vice Chairperson P. Johnson: None
Commissioner D. McCall: None
Commissioner B. Moore: Absent
Commissioner L. Robbins: None
ADJOURNMENT: Jackie adjourned at 11:21 – Dennis Second followed by Joan and Libby
