City of Galt COMMISSION ON AGING MINUTES 610 CHABOLLA AVENUE, GALT, CA Thursday, July 24, 2025 10:00 AM Chairperson: Joan Werblun Vice Chairperson: Phyllis Johnson Commissioners: Dennis McCall, Brendan Moore, Libby Robbins Call Meeting to Order – Joan Werblun Call to order – 10:02 a.m. Roll Call: Phyllis Johnson, Brendan Moore-Absent, Dennis McCall, Libby Robbins, Joan Werblun Advisor: Jackie Garcia – Parks & Recreation Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. Acceptance of Minutes: Meeting of Thursday, June 26, 2025 – Joan motioned the acceptance and Libby seconded Presentation: - Helping Hands – - Requesting goals and objectives of the COA, this way it can guide Helping Hands on supporting. - Introduction of Jack Jenkins, Liaison of Helping Hands - Met with Maria regarding status of senior luncheon, COA may need to financially help support lunch - Would like to venture and find ways how we can collaborate with COA on providing affordable fees to City senior activities. - Discussion of memorable plaque – Bob Wilson A. New Business: 1. Volunteer Hours Tracking - Joan: A tracking sheet of all volunteer hours will be located at the Senior Resource Center. 2. Market Vendor Procedure - Sub-committee created to include Commissioner Libby and Joan 3. Senior Transportation 4. New Purchases - TV for Bingo, Printer , Chromecast Device - Approved by Commissioner Libby Robbins and Dennis McCall 5. Financial Update - Commissioner Joan Werblun provided an expenditure tracking sheet of monthly expenses. - Advisor Jackie Garcia reported she would bring a financial report to next meeting. 6. Business Card Update - Advisor Jackie Garcia reported that per the City Clerk’s Office COA does not get business cards due to being an advisory body. 7.
