CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA CITY HALL 380 CIVIC DRIVE GALT, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, MAY 6, 2019, 6:00 PM Mission Statement - Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. - Stimulate community service in Galt - Encourage family participation in building civic unity. - Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. - Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth - Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families. PUBLIC COMMENT - Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the commission on any item of interest to the public. Speakers may address commission on any agenda item during consideration of the item. Please come to the podium and limit your comments to three (3) minutes. E. REGULAR BUSINESS: 1. Approval of minutes for the meeting of April 8, 2019 Action Item 2. Treasurer’s Report Information Item Commissioner Franco will review funds in the GYC Account 3. City Council Update Information Item Councilmember Lampson will present this month’s city council update. 4. Galt Youth Commission Scholarship Information Item Adult Mentor Flores will provide an update. 5. GYC Retreat Budget Proposal Action Item Commission will discuss dinner considerations for the last meeting and propose a budget. 6. GYC Apparel Budget Proposal Action Item Adult Mentor Gordon will request funds to purchase shirts for incoming commissioners. 7. Galt Herald Editorial Articles Information Item Subcommittee members will report on upcoming editorial topics. 14. 2019/20 Galt Youth Commissioners Information Item Adult mentors will recognize our outgoing commissioners and present our newly selected commissioners.
