CITY OF GALT GALT YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 380 CIVIC DRIVE, GALT CALIFORNIA MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2025, 6:31 PM Mission Statement Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. Stimulate community service in Galt. Encourage family participation in building civic unity. Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth. Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families. A. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:31 PM B. ROLL CALL: Youth Commissioners Present: Akers, Buzo, Camacho, Cullers, Diaz, Dolan, Fewell, John, Oliveros Rivera, Woods Absent Commissioners: Holden, Maldonado Present Mentors: Goerzen, Harris, Pevehouse, Van Warmerdam Absent Mentors: Fjeldstad, Council Liaison Farmer C. PUBLIC COMMENT – Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the commission on any item of interest to the public. Speakers may address commission on any agenda item during consideration of the item. Please come to the podium and limit your comments to three (3) minutes. D. PRESENTATIONS: None E. REGULAR BUSINESS: 1. Icebreaker Information Item Mentor Harris facilitated the icebreaker where Commissioners were asked to come up with three phrases to use as motivation for themselves. 2. Budget Report Information Item Treasurer Commissioner Akers presented and reported that the changes to the budget were $3,000.00 allotted for the scholarship recipients of 2025 (Aisha Rodriguez, Lynze Smith, Ninranjeet Dhaliwal, Alexis Ortega, and Kaitlyn Castro). 3. Approval of Minutes for November 3, 2025 Action Item Motion made by Woods. Seconded by John. Passed 10-0. 4. Street Clean Up Recap Information Item Commissioners reflected on the positive experience with the street clean up and commented that monthly participation is something to look forward to. 5. A-Z Foundation Dinner Information Item Commissioners decided that they’d like to attend the A-Z Foundation Dinner in March. 6. American Legion Dinner Information Item Commissioners decided that they’d like to attend the American Legion Dinner in February. 7. Random Acts of Kindness Week Information Item Commissioners agreed to finalize planning in January but offered activities such as caroling, going to senior homes, and making hand-drawn notes for the elderly. 8. Lighting of the Night Festivities Update Information Item Commissioners agreed that mentors Goerzen and Peevehouse would look after them as they handled the booth and then the parade during the event. 9. Fundraising Brainstorm Information Item While the ideas of hosting a car wash, participating in the toy drive, and participating in dinners, Commissioners were tasked to bring at least one fully planned out idea for fundraising for the next meeting. 10. City Council Update Information Item Council Liaison Farmer was absent and was therefore unable to give an update on the recent events in Galt and the City Council. 11. Around the Horn Information Item Commissioners and mentors shared something they were grateful for. Adjournment: 7:42 p.m. Minutes prepared by Secretary Diaz.

Random Acts of Kindness Week Information Item Discussion about plans for Random Acts of Kindness Week in February. 8. Lighting of the Night Festivities Update Information Item Discussion about plans for the upcoming Lighting of the Night festivities. 9. Fundraising Brainstorm Information Item Commissioners will discuss opportunities for fundraisers. 10. City Council Update Information Item Council Liaison Farmer will give an update on recent events in Galt and the City Council. 11. Around the Horn Information Item Commissioners will share something they are grateful for.
