CITY COUNCIL MEETING ROOM, 380 CIVIC DRIVE
GALT, CALIFORNIA
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2022, 6:30PM
Mission Statement
- Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens.
- Stimulate community service in Galt
- Encourage family participation in building civic unity.
- Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community.
- Collaborate with organizations devoted to the growth of youth
- Recognize that it takes all members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families.
A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE
B. ROLL CALL: Youth Commissioners: Akers, Brixey, Bulahan, Caron, Murillo Cuevas, Cullers,
Gold, Kaur, Jones, Lallian
Mentors: Harris, Hill J, Lampson.
Council Mayor Farmer
All present. Meeting began in Community Room.
C. PUBLIC COMMENT – None
D. PRESENTATIONS:
Traci Cross shared and invited commissioners to participate in community college/job fair and
fashion show on 4/15/2023.
E. REGULAR BUSINESS:
1. Icebreaker Information Item
Mentor Harris asked everyone to share their favorite stretch.
2. Mentor Matt Hill’s resignation Information Item
Mentor Hill sent a resignation letter. There are now two mentor positions open.
2. Commissioner Elections Action Item
Commissioners held elections for officer positions.

Treasure-Lauren Caron
Sgt at Arms-Kayson Jones
Public Relations-Alexis Gold
Fund Raising-Alexa Murillo Cuevas
Council Liaison-Josh Cullers
7:31 Adjourned to council chambers where chair Jasan Kaur called the meeting to order at 7:36 and
took over meeting.
3. Minutes from August 1, 2022 Action Item
Motion made by Caron, second Gold. Approved 10-0
4. Community Fair 4/15/2023 Action Item
Commission unanimously voted to participate in the Community Fair as presented by Traci Cross.
Motion made by Lallian, seconded by Caron.
5. College Fair Fashion Show Action Item
Commissioners voted to put on a fashion show during Community Fair.
6 City Council Update Information Item
Mayor Farmer shared new tax measure Q, and other council business.
7. Activities and projects for the year _ Information Item
Commission brainstormed activities and causes they would like to support and participate in for
this school year. They will be discussed and then voted on at the October meeting.
8. Meeting times _________________________ ________________Action Item
Cullers motioned to move meeting times to 6:30 and Akers seconded. High School is starting later
due to new law and commissioners are later finishing sports, FFA, club and other activities. Many
could no longer make the 6:00 time. Passed 10-0
9. Future Agenda Items Information Item
Brainstormed possible items for year. Partner with Gilly’s Car Wash. Partner with Commission on
Ageing. Paint Smud boxes. ARPA funds. Eggstravaganza fund raiser. Blue Angel of Hope event
Oct 22. Escape room. Zip lining.
10. Around the Horn/Give Your Gratitude Information Item
Commissioners shared community updates and gratitude.

C. PUBLIC COMMENT - Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may
address the commission on any item of interest to the public. Speakers may address commission on
any agenda item during consideration of the item. Please come to the podium and limit your
comments to three (3) minutes.
D. PRESENTATIONS:
Traci Cross will present an events for the commissioners to participate in. College fair fashion
show and community fair on 4/15/2023.
E. REGULAR BUSINESS:

Commissioners will review and approve the minutes from the August meeting.
4. Community Fair 4/15/2023 Action Item
Commission will vote on participation as presented by Traci Cross.
5. College Fair Fashion Show Action Item
Commission will discuss and vote on participating in fashion show.
6 City Council Update Information Item
Mayor Farmer will present this month’s update.
7. Activities and projects for the year _ Information Item
Commission will brainstorm activities and causes they would like to support and participate in for
this school year. They will be discussed and then voted on at the October meeting.
8. Meeting times _________________________ _________ _______Action Item
Decide if meetings need to be changed to 6:30 due to the new law where school starts later, which
means extracurricular activities go later. If voted for a bylaw change will have to be voted on by
city council.
